It'll be 24 months, as I was quoted pretty much the same. Even after three times of telling her I did NOT want a 24 month contract.
Does anyone else find that they use the 'It's completely impossible to get it for that price' or 'The system won't allow it' etc?
I've swung the other way and gone for the iPhone 4S 16GB.
18 month contract
£36 a month
600 mins
unlimited texts
1GB data
£169 for the phone - Doesn't bother me as I'll recoup that back from recycling my Torch.
Sales person one: No, we cannot give you unlimited texts, it's impossible as Apple set the prices for the phone and price plans. If you want unlimited it'll be £5 extra a month making it £41.
Me: Ok I'll leave it.
Call straight back...
Sales person two: Yes you can have unlimited texts and I'll give you 1GB data instead of 750mb.
????????????This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
Interesting...it wouldn't surprise me if it was 24 months. My only issue is, is that Panther 31 is also available as a 18 month tariff albeit with 200 less minutes. I'm happy to take a cut to 200 minutes if it means having an 18 month, so I'll try and propose that idea.0

I was offered the following, made me laugh anyway!!
Sony Ericcson Arc
£20 per month
400 minutes
Unlimited texts
No data
£50 for the phone
The only "improvement" i could get out of them was £26 per month and get the phone free!!
Laughed at him, requested my PAC code and got the following deal elsewhere.
Sony Ericcson Arc
£21 per month
500 minutes
5000 texts
1GB data
Free handset0 -
I got my details of my contract through today. It is OK except for two things. They have only got 100 minutes and 500 texts but I was definitely quoted 200 minutes and 1,000 texts. I remember because the 100 minutes and 500 texts was the first deal I turned down. I remember being pleasantly surprised when the second guy offered me 1,000 texts. Do Orange record all their customer service calls? I ran through everything a few times with the guy to make sure I had it right and wrote it all down at the time.
Edit: False alarm, I just spoke to the customer services guy and he said that the extra 100 minutes and 500 texts were loyalty additions over and above what shows on the standard contract letter.0 -
