Just a quick update after a couple of conversations with Orange retentions.
Was offered today a Nokia Lumia free on an 18 month contract with 400 mins, unlimited texts and 600 MB of data for £23.50 a month. Original deal was £26.50 with only 200 mins, unlimited texts and 100 MB but they said as I was a long standing customer of Orange they would double the minutes, add 500MB of data ad give me a further 10% off the monthly cost, so said yes. Now only got to wait for the phone to come back into stock as the guy said they had sold 8,000 on launch day and a further 4,000 since.
Looking forward to getting it, played with one a couple of weeks ago and thought it was really slick OS and the screen/colours were fantastic. Been trying to decide between the Lumia, iPhone or Galaxy S2 over the last couple of weeks or so and went for the Nokia.0 -
I saw an ad in the Metro today. You can get a free Xbox with that! http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/42759/free-xbox-360-nokia-lumiaJust a quick update after a couple of conversations with Orange retentions.

They were wanting £36 a month over 24 months for the free Xbox offer, plus they said it was over subscribed. The deal I managed to get works out at less than buying it SIM free from CPW and then paying for calls etc. I am on a 30 day SIM only deal with Orange just now at £17.50 per month, so only paying £6 a month more for more minutes, data, unlimited texts and new handset.0

Just upgraded a few days ago on Orange..
Did have:
Sony Ericsson W995
24 months
300mins, Unlimited texts, 500MB data
£23/month
Upgraded with 3 months to go and got:
Samsung Galaxy S2
24 months
600mins, Unlimited texts, 1GB data
Phone cost £45
£22.98/month
It was the best deal I could find without using Dialaphone, which I was reluctant to do.
Also I've only been with Orange since Feb 2010 when I got the W995.0 -
Just been offered £26 for 400 minutes, unltd texts, 750mb of data for a samsung g s2. Orange users can now use the bt open zone wifi points(you get them in weatherspoons pubs and other places) which i wasnt aware of until now, i knew they were only for 02 customers which i found out last year.0

Just upgraded my contract to an iphone 4s and found a big advantage by agreeing to sign up for internet with orange, £17 a month, seems a lot, but that includes the line rental, also get £50 cashback. They were also a lot more flexible with the phone contract as a result0 -
hi I got a better deal by going into my local orange store than what they were offering via phone
I got
Galaxy s2 free on 24month contract
900 mins
unlimited text
1g data
2 swapables a month
free bt openzone wifi
I also got 25% off my monthly tariff and they added bb services as I wanted to use the sim in my bb torch and give the s2 to my son.
monthly tariff £41 - 25% = £30.25 inc vat
Apolgies for the noob questions, but what are "bb services" and what's the benefit of BT openzone if a phone already has wi-fi. Can't you just use public wi-fi?0 -
As for signal most Android handset have SignalBoost on Orange, use wi-fi to connect to OrangeIt's not 'most' actually:
HTC - Touch 3G (T3232), Wildfire S, Desire S, Cha Cha.
Orange - Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Stockholm.
Samsung - P260, P200, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy S II.
LG - Optimus One, Optimus Me, GT505, KF757

As far as I know Signalboost is only available with Orange firmware, so only phones direct from Orange will work - i.e none supplied by CPW or other retailers. I did try to find out if the app is available on Android for vanilla phones but kineto never replied.0 -
Currently running SIM Only (for past year) using a bought mates HD2 (In hindsight feel it might have been an error to go Sim Only?)

500 mins xnet
U/L Texts
Usual 500MB data
Currently holding on line to see about BB B99000
