I spoke to retentions 3 times until I was satisfied so it's worth ringing them again but I would suggest doing it a few days before your contract finishes. I've just upgraded and asked girl what was the best offer she could do on a samsung tocco. She gave me an excellent deal and I didn't have to pressurise or threaten to leave! Suppose it depends who you speak to though.0

soz what deal did you get with the tocco?!?
I called up on the day of my contracting ending and they offered me some deals, but not good enough - as were more money!!!
So now I'm out of contract and shopping around to go back to Orange.0 -
I got it free of charge on a dolphin 25 tariff for £15 per month!0

Just agreed a Nokia N95 8 gb 1000 mins and unlimited text for £30.
£49.99 for the phone.
Had 4 weeks left to go on cotract so I am quite happy.nothing.0 -
Just been offered a choice of Motorola V8, Nokia 6500 or a purple Samsung G600 for £10 per month - 100 xnet mins plus 300 texts (18 month contract).
Will probably go for the Nokia, but am pleased as I want to keep the monthly cost down and have pretty low usage.0 -
Contract finishes on July 26th, called Orange to confirm the date and was offered 600 mins/unlimited texts (Dolphin 35) and Nokia N95 8gb for £25 per month eighteen month contract. Normal monthly spend £45, how does this sound?0

That is a good deal RICARDOMINSKI. As I was offered the exact same deal but £25 for 9 months and £30 for remaining 9 months.
I'm currently on Dolphin 35 with a 2000 loyality minute bonus - yet my bills range £40 - £80 as I do MMS, Data etc. So them offering you £25pm for that deal is good, hence why I said no to them - I realise now that the deals they're offering me are just awful compared to others.
I've ordered a free SIM for T-Mobile and O2 so I can check their strengths etc and then I'm going to switch unless Orange can come up with the goods.0 -
Thanks SparciaM, I thought so. That was without any haggling, just called and asked for the date my contract expired. The customer service (retentions ?) guy ,Adam, said he would note on my account the offer made and that I was thinking about it. I said I was going to look at what other networks had to offer etc and he said to call back before I took another offer to see it they could match or better it. My bills are generally £45, the highest has been £75, so can't understand why you haven't had a better offer0

well i phoned to cancel today and they were quite happy to see the back of me as far as my mobile contract was concerned. The, admittedly, very nice girl I spoke to, wasn't able to make any kind of offer to me. I'm on £35 month contract (500m/500txts) which is far more than i need. Also pay £5 per month for weekend/evening internet and have the £5 unlimited broadband deal. Told them I was looking at the simplicity deals from O2 as I couldn't justify the high expense of this contract and they agreed and said we'll send you your PAC asap. She then put me through to Indian call centre to get MC for the internet.
This was the weird bit. I was put on hold 3 seperate times before being transferred to broadband retentions, who were fairly aggressive in their attempts to keep me. They offered me 6 months free broadband but when I asked them to clarify the terms, I found out my 'unlimited' usage was being limited to 10gb a month! Told the CS guy that I needed more than that and O2 Broadband was unlimited and he tried to tell me that there wasn't much difference between a fair use policy of 40GB plus, and 10gb. Refused his offer and finally he agreed to send me my MAC.
What I don't understand is that my phone contract is for £40 and I barely use any of my allowance yet I pay them £5 for broadband which I absolutely cane the usage out of, and yet it is the broadband they are desperate for me to stay with????
Very strange.....it's not the council's fault your band is wrong, blame the Valuation Office !!!!! :rolleyes:0 -
