  • I have a contract with orange for my iPhone 4, its around £38 a month (Including payment of the phone) and never really exceeded my budget since it covers alot of usage. Haven't really had issues with them or the contract and love orange wednesdays lol. Only problem is my contract seems to last too long, 2 years.
  • I dont really want a two year contract either. The phones dont last that long.

Will look at the cashback deals. The customer service is just much better at Orange if something goes wrong.

I meant a simple cashback (TCB, quidco).
With a multi-redemption deal you can get it for less than £20p.m.
  • Hey Guys .

Advice needed. My orange £25 18 month contract ends soon. I hated orange, the signal is terrible for me while 02 is really good. I want to move to 02.

However orange are offering me a free upgrade (Galaxy Nexus) I really want this phone. If i open an 02 contract the phone will be on a very expensive tariff.

Do you think i should upgrade the phone with orange and then pay an early cancellation fee (so 18 x £25) i think this would be like paying for a sim free galaxy nexus but cheaper. Then i could unlock the phone.

Or i could just carry on with orange and it's s*** signal and wait 18 months to leave orange.

Are you sure it is Galaxy Nexus that has not even been released yet?
I can be wrong, but Google Nexus S seems to be a more appropriate phone for 18x£25 tariff.

Re the signal, did you try using t-mobile one?

Orange have confirmed they will be getting it and i asked if i would be able to get it when released. They said Yes. i can get any phone apart from the iPhone as it is a special plan. I have been a long loyal customer that was the reason they gave me.

The signal is bad with both. No 3G which is what i need with a smartphone

Then request PAC and wait until the retentions contact you.

I phoned and said that I was looking to improve my deal and he started talking about deals with phones. When he finished I used that as my chance to say I was just looking for a sim only contract as I lost my phone last week and bought a replacement unlocked handset from an independnet retailer. This way they know I can leave easily if I don't like what I get offered.

I then said what I was looking for and he actually thought they had no deals with international numbers. I had to tell him about the camel deal. I said that the web site said that you get 400 anytime any network minutes, unlimited texts and 100 international minutes but, at £20 a month, I found that too expensive. I said that I didn't want to leave Orange as I'd been treated pretty well and he said they'd do their best for me as they didn't want me to leave. They tried to offer me the camel deal at £15 a month but that is still too expensive and I really didn't want to spend more than £10. I didn't get the £0 T-mobile deal but I did get offered a deal from them at £7.71 a month with 300 minutes, 300 texts and an international booster. I told the guy I didn't take it because I wanted to do them the courtesy of giving them a chance to beat the deal.:rotfl: The real reason was that I didn't want to be paying another couple of months on my orange contract while starting another and I would have had to start that right away. I told the guy this deal was normally £10.21 in the hope that this would encourage them to drop the price some more. He didn't but he did say that I would be better waiting til less than a month before the end of my contract and I will have a better chance of getting a retention deal. I am hoping the fact that I managed to get him to knock a fiver off the camel deal is a step in the right direction and I get the deal I want. I didn't mention the chitter chatter deal yet, that is my secret weapon when I phone back. :rotfl:

I did get a call just before five from a number 07973100194, which I was afraid to phone in case it was a scam number as I don't recognise it. When I searched, some places said it was an orange number (it certainly looks like one) but some said it was dodgy because folk asked for your password when you answered, which sounds seriously dodgy to me. I am trying to get through to orange on the number I know is definitely a customer services number to see if someone was looking for me.
