Thanks. Mum was on PAYG before, and didn't have an internet phone. I hope the 500mb they've given her is indeed every month, and not just a one off! The expiry date for the 500mb seems to be 31/12/99 which makes me think that when it's gone, it's gone. I shall ring them sometime after the next bill to be sure :-)

    Thanks latecomer!

If it helps, I've never heard of a total allocation for a contract - everything is on a monthly basis. You can always register the account online and check the usage on there - saves waiting for the next bill. Either that or get your mum to give them a quick call to check.

I've just come into my upgrade period (today with three months left). Does it matter when you start phoning up for an upgrade? I've been on iphone 30 for the last 2 years with Dolphin before that I think (£30-35 with N95 8gb). Looking at other recent posts, do you reckon a target:

    Samsung Galaxy S2
100-200 mins, 200-500 texts, solid amount of internet
    For £18-22 over 18 months

    is achievable?

    Cheers,

    Felix

hi I got a better deal by going into my local orange store than what they were offering via phone

    I got

Galaxy s2 free on 24month contract
    900 mins
    unlimited text
    1g data
    2 swapables a month
    free bt openzone wifi

I also got 25% off my monthly tariff and they added bb services as I wanted to use the sim in my bb torch and give the s2 to my son.

    monthly tariff £41 - 25% = £30.25 inc vat
  • Hey guys,

Been watching this thread for a few months.
I have just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S2 from my ancient HTC Hero.

I was with Carphonewarehouse who bombarded me with calls as soon as i was in my last 3 months of a 24 month contract.

Left it untill today first day of last month of contract.
Phoned Orange direct and they offered me:

    Free Samsung Galaxy S2:

    24 Month Contract @ £23 a month
    900 Minutes
    Unlimited Texts
    1GB Internet
    30 Picture Messages
    Free Wifi

She initially offered 500 minutes and upped it to 900.

I tried to get an 18 month deal for same price but lesss mins and texts but the woman on phone said they couldn't do it as they had gave me the best possible price.

I did quote people on this thread who got 18 month deals with less mins and texts but to no avail :(

Maybe i can phone up after 6 months and get £5 knocked off by reducing my minutes or texts then?

Orange website says the deal i got is £41 a month!
So i got a good deal i think, what you guys think?

Im not bothered now its 24 months as i will sell the S2 when the S3 comes out. Then possibly sell my new upgrade in 24 months time and keep the new S3.

BTW I have only been with orange for 2 years!

I've got 3 weeks left on my 2 year contract with Orange. I called Orange to ask for my PAC code (which I have received) and this is the best sim only they could come up with to try to get my to stay on Orange:
    600mins/unltdtexts/500mb 30 day rolling for £15/month (i.e. £180 for the year)

If I go with T-Mobile's £15.32/month for the 600mins/500texts/500mb and get quidco's £80 T-Mobile for SIMO £15+ 12 month contract cashback that works out to £104 for the year.

Should I go ahead with the T-Mobile with the quidco cashback or do you reckon Orange or another provider can give a cheaper deal?

Lukepev if i was you i would try and get that deal in writing because i have had numerous issues with Orange offering deals on the telephone and then completely changing the terms later down the line !!!!!!!!!!!
  • Currently trying to get through to Orange. I have been waiting for 15 minutes so far and I think by the time they answer I might be too angry to sensibly discuss an upgrade!!!!!!

I've just spoken them but went through billing first - was only on hold for a couple of mins and then got transferred through.

Have been pushed in a slightly different direction this time with the guy recommending the Wildfire S:

    Both options have:
    18 month contracts
    400 mins
    300 texts
    500Mb data
    Unlimited landlines

    then
    HTC Wildfire S
    30 MMS
    Free insurance
    £19

    Motorola Atrix
    no extras
    £18

I'm tempted to try the Atrix. I dont send MMS but send pics by email instead and have insurance through my bank account anyway. I'm also thinking if I dont get on with teh Atrix I can sell it on for a lot more than a Wildfire S :)

    Any thoughts?
