Orange Retention Offers

Hi
Its very important that you find other deals that are better than the one orange is currently offering if you just upgrade now.
e.g. Orange was going to offer me
Samsung: £99
Mins: 300
Texts: Unlimited
Internet: 500mb
Cost: £25 pm
When i asked for my PAC code they instantly asked why. I went on to tell them i had seen much better offers. I made the mistake of only reading out the Tesco offer (check tesco mobile, samsung £25 pm). If i had read out a few from affordable mobiles i might have got something a little better, still, what i got was good. Make sure you arm yourself with two or three good deals.
Tbh the offer i accepted was one of the first she came out with. I know i could have haggled some more but tbh what was offered was perfect for me. I did try to get unlimited texts but they wanted to put the mins down to 400.
Thanks i will ensure that i have a selection of the best available deals.0 -
Hi,
Just took the following upgrade offer through orange:
HTC Sensation - £44
300Mins
Unlimted texts
Email
330MB Internet
£20 month on 24 month contract
Not the best deal on here but I am quite pleased with this offer as not a high spender and the Sensation is still quite expensive given how new it is.0 -
Just finished a £45 2yr contract (well, one week away).
When I rang through last week ("high value" was mentioned in the recorded message when I called 150) they offered me a free HTC Sensation for £27.50 a month (900min/1GB) but I wsn't sufficiently tempted so I thought I would wait until the beginning of August. When I called yesterday they had the ability to look up what I had been offered previously, but I was able to negotiate a bit more. In the end I accepted the following:
900mins
unlimited texts
1GB
LG Optimus 3D
£22.50/month
It seems that they were able to knock off a bit more from the LG as it was a newer handset and a bit delayed to market than the Samsung or the HTC.0 -
Thanks for everyone's comments on this thread as it is very helpful. I too am desperate to get rid of my old HTC TYNT II. Here are my details and story as it reads today:)
My contract ends 23/10/2011, so yes I am not in the 30 days end period yet but decided I would try my luck anyway.
Here is what I currently have:
900 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
500MB Internet
On Dolphin 35 Websaver
With loyalty discount £25.53 + VAT per month
What I would like:
Samsung Galaxy S2 for Free
And at least the same kind of call, text and internet allowances as above but with perhaps Photo Messages and WIFI included too.
I called them this morning around 09H45 and was offered the Panther 40 deal, so more or less what I would like but it came to £36 per month and they would not budge and were also happy to give me my PAC number.
I gave them 4 better deals I could get offered from Tesco, Affordable Mobiles and 2 off the 3 Network, of course not all are with a free phone though and that is an almost must, but am willing to pay a bit to get the Galaxy.
I will try again:)0 -
I have about 2 weeks to the end of my contract with orange.
I was looking to go a 30 day rolling contract but they offered;
Blackberry 9780
1000mins
1500 texts
BB bundle and 500MB mobile internet
some free MMS per month
for £18 on an 18 month contract
The person I spoke too said he doesnt thing the 9780 is the best of phones and that maybe I should consider Android phones (he adviced I check them out on their website). I currently use a Blackberry Bold 9700 and he said he thinks that is better than the 9780
I asked about iphones and he said they cant lower the prices on them.
I am stumped!0 -

How do you get on with the blackberry ? if you like it then id suggest waiting till the 9900 comes out in a couple of weeks time. The deal youve been offered is good but the phone isnt the greatest and is pretty much the same as the one you have now0 -
That deal on the Bold 9870 is very good.
I would think that to be the best available for that handset.
As mentioned by hicky45, the Bold 9900 is out next week and superceeds the 9780.
I would expect prices to be a lot more though!0 -
i currently have the 9700 and was due an upgrade last month.
i currently am on a £35 a month tariff, but over the 18 months my bills have ranged between £500 and £37. Id say they average about £60.
what are the chances of me getting a decent deal on the new bold 9900?0 -
How does this sound?
Orange have offered me the following :
Samsung Galaxy Sii
18 month contract
£105 for the phone
400 x-net mins
Unlimited landline
300 texts
1gb internet
£10.42 per month
Yay or nay? After the initial £105 payment, I'm pleasantly suprised with the offer. The contract - mins, 1gb net etc, is what I currently have, which I have no probs with.0 -
Great great deal man especially on an 18 month contract. How did you manage to pull that one off :P0
