Orange Retention Offers

OK my turn now.
Called Orange retentions this morning and this is what they offered me (and I accepted).
Samsung Galaxy S2 for £80
24 months contract
600 mins X networks
unlimited calls to landline
300 texts
all for £20/month.
Total over 24 months : £560 (equivalent to £23.33/month).
When you think that this phone is phone £499 in PAYG, £560 seems like a pretty good deal with line rental!
Also, a good trick to start the conversation with customer service : give your budget minus £5 (ie, you are ready to pay £25 a month but say £20) and see what they can do for you. You can usually get a better deal than what you are on for much less!0 -
Going to give orange a ring today, going for the samsung Galaxy S2. I aim to get the phone for free on a contract on or less than £25 pm.
Done some research and Tesco offer a £25 pm contract. You get 5000 texts, 750mins, 500 Internet with the phone cost at £50. I'm going to negotiate around this and a few other contracts i got through affordable mobiles.
I'm currently paying £25 pm for 300mins, unlimited texts and no Internet. If Orange could give me the phone for free, with lets say 500mins, 5000 texts, and 500 internet i would be happy! Lets see how it goes! I've seen some cracking deals put on this thread, unfortunately i've still got 28 days left (and im on holiday end of next week) so im hoping that i can get a good deal by sometime mid next week!0 -
Got myself a deal
Samsung S2: £25
Minutes: 800
Texts 800
Internet: 500mb
Unlimted landline calls anytime
All for £25 pm
Not the best deal on the thread, but certainly very good. The above is perfect for me given my usage!0 -
Hi,
I am about to go into my upgrade period on the 10th. I am at the end of a 2yr £40 per month contract with orange 1200 mins 5000 texts, 500 data (I have a Nokia N97 which I have hated for the last year!).
Ideally I would like to reduce my contract by about £10 and have a free Galaxy S2.
3 are offering £28 for 900 mins, UL texts, 1gb data and free S2 but obviously I will have to wait until my contract is up in Nov to swap.
Is it worth me haggling for an upgrade or am I better waiting until my contact is actually up?
Impatience to get rid of this annoying Nokia is a big factor too:D

Can I ask a question on timings please?
My wifes Orange contract at £30pm with a Nokia 5800, 24 mths expieres end Sept. She wants a \Galaxy2, and phoned to ask what deals were available. She was just quoted the shop standard, Panther 40 £40 pm, 900 mins, unltd text, 750gb data, and £40 for the phone.
I just got the same deal from the Orange shop, less 25% because the OH works for one of their preferred suppliers, and the phone for free! Orange CS just said, 'go to the shop!'.
What is the procedure please....problem is that Orange gives us the best signal here, so would probably want to stay.
Wifes usage quite low, this would v easily cover usage. Is it worth bothering, or should there be some sort of loyalty discount?O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

The stores and telesales are two separate companys. Each with their own offers and deals. So deals offered by the stores won't be available to telesales and via versa. . .0 -
We're thinking about a SIM only deal when our contract period ends in a month or two.0

Mark 1992 your deal seems pretty good based on what's available at present. Did you have to haggle hard?
I will be giving my 30 day notice next Saturday and would appreciate knowing the approach you took when haggling to see if i can get a similar deal.0 -
I've just upgraded my other contract, I was on a basic Dolphin 15 tariff, never went over my allowence, was after the Desire S (again), originally the advisor offered me the handset for free on the same tariff with a 24 month contract, I managed to talk £5 a month off the line rental and an extra 1GB of internet, so a free phone for £10 a month, it doesnt beat the deal I got at the end of June but I'm happy enough0

Hi
Its very important that you find other deals that are better than the one orange is currently offering if you just upgrade now.
e.g. Orange was going to offer me
Samsung: £99
Mins: 300
Texts: Unlimited
Internet: 500mb
Cost: £25 pm
When i asked for my PAC code they instantly asked why. I went on to tell them i had seen much better offers. I made the mistake of only reading out the Tesco offer (check tesco mobile, samsung £25 pm). If i had read out a few from affordable mobiles i might have got something a little better, still, what i got was good. Make sure you arm yourself with two or three good deals.
Tbh the offer i accepted was one of the first she came out with. I know i could have haggled some more but tbh what was offered was perfect for me. I did try to get unlimited texts but they wanted to put the mins down to 400.0
