I been following this thread closely of late, as I've been in touch with orange a few times to try to wangle a better deal out of them. But I've failed. 18 months ago they have freely admitted they were throwing offers at customers to retain them, but now they just aren't doing it. I was told that their business model had changed!

So I've just come across a cracking deal for htc desire s through talkmobile, £18 per month, 300 minutes, 1000 texts, 1gb data. I haven't seen another deal to touch that. Not sure if I'll even waste my time calling retentions at Orange to give them the chance to match it.

Can you provide the details of where that offer is, best I have seen is 3 months free on a 12 month £30 per month package for same phone.

I managed to get through retentions

HTC Desire S phone cost £76

    400 mins
    unlimited text
    500mb internet

£15 a month on a 24 month contract, im a pretty light user so was quite happy with that.

Candystick that sounds like a deal I would love, so maybe I will call them to try it one last time, if I can build up the strength to phone them.

Sumeet I found it on the web, I googled htc deals or something, but if you go to the talkmobile website you can pick phone and deal, it's easy enough to find on there.

I'll let you know if I call orange one last time. I been with them for 9 years or something but loyalty counts for nothing as we all know on here!

My HTC decided to start acting slow and unresponsive to the point of the sensor not doing anything when I put my finger on it to put in my password pattern. I am 3 weeks into my upgrade period, but the need for a phone has forced the issue so I just spoke to Orange and Carphone Warehouse.

    Orange:
    iPhone4 16gb white
    £69.99 up front cost
    £35 a month
    600 minutes
    unlimited texts
    500MB data
Orange Maps and 50 photo messaging

    CPW:
    iPhone4 16gb white
    £0.00 up front cost
    £35 a month
    600 minutes
    unlimited texts
    500MB data
Orange Maps and 50 photo messaging

Can't believe that CPW offered a better deal than Orange on the same account to upgrade! I am going to sleep on it for the weekend to decide whether to take up that offer

I am confused by this too, there are (was) even better deals if you pay £29 up front. How can they offer better deals than Orange?

Just spoke to Sarah Millican at Orange and she said this deal was a superb deal.

  • Just thought I'd let you know what I got, I think I have the best deal on the thread!

    Free Samsung Galaxy S2
    1300 Minutes (Any network)
    Unltd texts
    500MB Internet
    5 Photo Messages

£15 per month for 24 months.

I reckon I could sell the phone and cover the cost of my bills for the next two years! (Quite happy with my N900 at the moment).
