Orange Retention Offers

Been offered a 24 month extension of the contract that I am currently on (300 mins + unlimited texts) with a 50% discount (£12.50 pcm) and a free Blackberry 9780. Total costs for 24 months £300.
Does this seem like a decent deal to any of you?
The only consideration I have is that the 9780 is now a reasonably old phone. Had a look at the S2 and a few of the other Android phone and, although they look flashy etc, I definitely not going to be buying any Apps etc - the only benefit would be for web browsing etc which is not terrible in the Blackberry.
Any thought would be much appreciated.0 -
Just called since it was a week later, never got a notification text.
Samsung Galaxy S2
400 mins (plenty!)
Unlimited Text
500 mb internet
£20/month for 24 monts
Basically the same deal as I am on at the moment with my Blackberry, very happy to be getting a £500 phone free on £20/m. I feel if I don't get on with it I can sell it later and use the money towards another phone in the future.0 -
looks like Samsung Galaxy S2 was back in stock in the day but out of stock again by evening.0

Initially when you call up get all the options and see what's available, then find what you'd like on this thread or what other networks are offering then when you know what you want call up and tell them what you want if they don't give it to you call up again and this time go through to retentions and ask for you PAC and they will ask why, tell them what you want and hopefully they will give you it, but be realistic in your expectations.Nearly debt free

Success !!
Just had a call from the CS rep to tell me that its back in stock and has been despatched for delivery tomorrow.0 -
Just been offered and actually accepted the following (subject to me calling them and physically ordering the phone) :
Samsung Galaxy S2 (cost £107.00)
300 x network minutes
unlimited texts
500mb Internet
24 month contract for £10 a month.
Any thoughts?
Whilst I have the initial outlay of £107, this is more than offset by the lower monthly cost and means I have a modern smartphone which should last the distance for when I may undoubtedly go for a 64gb iPhone in a couple of years time.0 -

That would suit me fine. Can I ask what your current contract is?

Hi,
Im currently on an 18 month £35 a month iphone contract and it's about to run out in 2 weeks time.
I spoke to retentions yesterday and they offered me a Galaxy S2 for £12.
This includes 300 minutes
Unlimited texts
Keep my magic numbers
500mb of internet
This is for a 18 month contract.
I also explained that I work for Local Gov and asked if there is a 25% discount but he said he'd never heard of this.
Can anybody advise me if this is a good deal or should I haggle for something better?
I called into the Carphonewarehouse today to see if they could do better and they couldn't.
Any help would be greatly apprecitated.
Thanks in advance.
