I have been readling this thread for a few weeks whilst waiting for the right time to call up orange, as my contract was due to end on 10th july.
I rang up yesterday and asked to be put through to cancellations and wanted my pac code etc etc...
Anyway end result, free samsung galaxy 2 24 month contract with 700 mins x network, unlimited texts, and 500mb:):).
Not as good as some on here, but i'm happy with this and i'm glad, as all my research on which phone to get, (htc sensation or sg2) is finally over.
Phone arrived today, waiting for the 1st charge and then i can find out how good this phone is...?? (by the way how long should 1st charge be? can't find that info on any of the accompanying leaflets)
So thanks again for all the tips:T

My phone is due to be delivered today - the lady at Orange just said give it a "good charge"
Me thinks I will be googling today to understand what a good charge actually is....have read in other sites/pages that there are issues with the battery life, but I will not be caning it and won't be onlineall the time. Should be fine and dandy. My first smartphone....how exciting!! (I really should get out more)0 -
Hi, yes i googled too and found several bits, but the general gist seemed to be charge until battery indicator shows a full charge, but to make sure that you fully discharge the battery before charging it again.
Hope this helps.
But so far so good for me and phone is super quick, although don't like all the stuff orange pre-load onto the phone.0 -
Yeah I didn't like the pre loaded stuff either. My solution was to create a folder on the app menu and put all the useless stuff in that, de clutters it massively!0

pretty happy with my deal, although wont be for everyone.
200 xnetwork mins
300 texts
unlimited landlines
500mb internet
nokia n8 free
for £10 a monthDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Well, my Mrs completely failed in her attempt to get a deal. She phoned up and said that she could get 600mins, 500txt, 1gb internet and free htc sensation on T Mobile for £25 a month. They offered her a Galaxy S 2 for £50 on a £35 contract....
Maybe we'll try phoning again tonight to see if we get through to someone who isn't reading the deals off the website.0 -
I don't think you're going to get very far trying to play Orange off against T-Mob....There deals are coming a lot closer together since the merger....0

You're probably right, staff have probably been told not to bother trying to match since T-Mobile/Orange will be under one company soon anyway. She phoned back this evening just to see if they would even attempt to match it, still £35 but they dropped the £50 for the phone.
Wonder how they would feel if Talk Mobile was brought into the equation..... Hmmm.....0 -

Give it a shot mate - you've got nothing to lose and everything to potentially gain0
