All with
400 minute
1300 texts
Unlimited landline
500mg data
For £15.21 inc VAT.
I can have an HTC Desire or a Samsung Galaxy S for £20 a month but that's a bit steep.
What d'yall think?
Pretty good deal...of those phones I would go for the Wildfire, BUT see if they will do you a discounted price on the Desire, which is a much nicer phone to use. Even if they offer it to you on the package you mention above for a reduced fee, say £50, it would work out cheaper than the £20/month they are offering as an alternative.
You could try ringing retentions again, say you like the package, but really want the Desire (or Samsung if you prefer it), accept that you cannot have it free, but wonder if they can sweeten the price to seal the deal and keep you as a customer...who says Brits don't like to haggle0 -

Or try ringing Orange again, tell them about the price you have seen, and ask if they will beat it to keep you...nothing ventured, nothing gained0 -

Absolutely cracking deal...what were you on before, and roughly what did you use, as this info would be a useful guide for other moneysavers. Enjoy the new phone, and your savings0 -

Before I had a Raccoon package for £22 per month
600 mins
500 txt
Orange maps
Send about 50 txts per month and only used about 200 mins/month throughout whole 24 month contract BUT my last two bills have been over £45 through picture messaging and internet use, wasn't planned but maybe that helped me get a good deal.
The girl I spoke to was really helpful and even phoned me back 10 mins later to say she'd managed to knock 70p off the price AND the handset should be here tomorrow0 -
Just to update - I was contacted by an orange employee on another forum - took further details about the dreaded "Wayne"
Then got a phone call from someone else from Orange who wasn't remotely interested in my private contract but was very interested in ensuring that the business contract stayed with Orange.
I have to say that I'm really not impressed by Orange's treatment of the average customer, but realistically Wayne was correct - Orange's shareholders are not going to lose any sleep about losing my business - however I am a businessman and my decision regarding the award the £150k contract will not be influenced in any way by their treatment of me on a personal basis.
I sincerely hope that "Wayne" and his like receive the appropriate training from his employers that they are obviously lacking.
I have reluctantly activated my PAC Code today and I am slinging my hook to T-Mobile (Ironically)
Well Done Orange
It's the personal touch that is so impressive0 -

I too am probably going to jump ship to TMobile, Orange were barely competitive last time I renewed through retentions 18months ago and I'm can't see them beating some of the great Tmobile tarrifs that I keep seeing on e2save when my contract ends in 5 weeks.
Cheerio Orange!0
