Agree, UMA SignaBoost - use this as a reason with retentions to get Wildfire, try both in Orange store and say retentions asked you to pop in to see both them to decide & the store will oblige you, UMA/Signalboost is provided by Kineto via Smart-Wifi an app on Android phones for UMA for Orange UK customers only

Isn't UMA only available for Blackberrys and one of the LG models? How is it implemented - is it only available with the Orange ROM, or can it be accessed with unbranded handsets on Orange? I heard that the Kineto app is pre-loaded, so I assume you can't download it separately.

The articles I've read say pre-loaded, but they're all at least six months old - I couldn't find a current one. Thanks for the link, I'll try that.

Just to clarify though - here I take it you're saying that kineto can be downloaded onto any android phone, however on the "increase signal-strength" thread you said that it's available on Orange-supplied handsets, which I assume means orange branded only?

3 firmware bars it on Android as the you could lock to Orange roaming then UMA it, 3 would rather there 2100mhz 3G signal took priority over UMA as its cost would be payable to Orange

Defo email Kineto, Steve Shaw is the marketing CEO and he replies asap, its a small company aswell - impressive ! ;)

OK first call and I've been offered either a Sony Ericsson X8, an LG Optimus One or an HTC Wildfire

    All with
    400 minute
    1300 texts
    Unlimited landline
    500mg data

    For £15.21 inc VAT.
I can have an HTC Desire or a Samsung Galaxy S for £20 a month but that's a bit steep.

    What d'yall think?

I'm out of contract - and I'm paying £30 a month for a SE C902..... long since paid for...

I looked online for other deals but they all say out of stock. Can they can see that in the OR office?
