Orange Retention Offers

Galaxy S - Free
400 mins
Unlimited texts
1gb data
24 months
£17.85 pm
I said that this was still a bit away what I could get elsewhere and was told that the only way to get that down would be to contribute to the handset price and was given the same deal as above but instead of free phone it would be -
£9.99 + £15.32 pm = £15.74 pm over contract lifetime ((£15.32 * 24) + £9.99)/24
£69.99 + £12.76 pm = £15.68 pm
£129.99 + £10 pm = £15.42 pm
This is much more like what I'm after and even though over 24 months the Orange offer could be a minimum of £41.89 more I think that I'll take their offer as it means not having to mess around with redemptions and worrying about Quidco tracking etc...
I think that the £9.99 + £15.32 option is probably best because the total cost over 24 months is only £10 more than spending £129.99 upfront.
Do Orange do memory sticks or any other accessories that I could possibly ask for to sway me?
Well negotiated, much more like itBy the time you pay for recorded delivery / allow for Quidco fee if this your only cashback, the extra you pay on your deal really isn't that much, and yes, it does save the hassle. I would agree with your reasoning wholeheartedly.
Not sure about memory sticks, but I suppose you could try getting a case or higher capacity memory card. Either way, enjoy the savings and your new phone.0 -
Well pac code came.
Got told there were no deals at all under twenty pound so they could possibly do a sim only deal.
100 mins
unlimited texts
500mb data
£10.21
I just gave in and accepted as really cannot be bothered to leave orange and this was much better than sim only previous offers. Realised I did not ask if sim only had a contract length attached which is bad.
It seemed deal wise with a phone I was just going to get the same orange san fransico 21 pound 100 mins, unlimited texts and 250mb data deal.
Its cheaper to go sim only and buy the phone.
Only place I could get a deal with a phone for 15 was 3 but they say I wont get signal in my flat!
cant afford more of an upgrade sadly, gas + eletrics gone up 20 ppm and water 4ppm! that was my new decent phone money !
Update:
Phoned them back it is monthly rolling sim
Asked out of curiosity best san francisco deal and was correct £20 ppm with above package + magic number,
So sticking with sim only for now !0 -
Hi Guys
Before I tackle retentions, I wonder if someone could explain something to me?
On the Orange website, on the page where you can bolt on bundles, what is the difference between:-
"Mobile Internet Browsing"
"Access your favourite websites, download music, send emails and more with internet on the move - 1GM mobile internet £10.21 for 30 days"
And:
"Mobile Internet"
"Get online anywhere, anytime and access all your favourite websites including Facebook and YouTube - mobile internet £5 for 30 days"
Is it just the data allowance that is different?0 -
Hi Euro64, Gadgetmaster and Malid
I was concerned to read about your experiences with "Wayne". If you can contact us by Facebook or Twitter using the links below, I'd like to try to locate this person and then feed back your comments as a training issue against him. The service you describe really isn't what you should expect from us.
Thanks

!I'm on a Dolphin 50 (doubled to 100mins) for £15 PCM
basically I'd take 200 mins, a few texts and some internet
Best I've been getting offered is HTC wildfire or desire, 300 doubled to 600 (academic to my usage), unl txt 500mb internet for £23.)
I'm not really wanting to go above the £15 mark
!ORANGE MONDAY 14thmarch - latest attempt - I quoted t-mobiles 300 plan - 300 mins 300 txts and 500mb data include Free handset choice of 11...£15.32 pcm
Retention offered:-
Lg optimus one £15.32 PCM with 300min / unl txt !/500 mb data / unl email/ free handset...!Number of mins fits my needsGadgetmaster wrote: »Nice offerHandset could be better...depends what you want from it. Handy if you have poor reception but a wifi network you can attach to with the UMA technology. Not a fan of LG cameras or build quality, but that is my personal view. If they offered you a HTC Wildfire I would say snap their hands off, so it really depends what you want from the handset. You could always sell it on a well known auction site and buy something you prefer with the proceeds.
Called again, they were offering Sony X8 23.22 600mins unltxt 500data, I mentioned Monday's offer and that a friend had advised LG wasn' particularly durable, and had suggested HTC wildfire..."Good phone, but out of stock, let me put you through to a colleague...." Colleague was able to agree to Wildfire handset free, 300 mins. unl txt, 500 mb data.I'm a happy bunny - just realised. I'm unaware whether 18 or 24 mths but 'What the hey!'0 -

I don't use these social networks so not sure what you expect me to do. It would be great if Orange dealt with such issues I have to say. I have a lot of information I could share.0 -
Orange using social networks to resolve customer care issues?? How un professional is that!:eek:0

All the operators have social network accounts now, and they're useful too... often get a quick response. Probably because they don't like their dirty washing being aired.
It's not just them either, many companies have accounts.0
