Orange Retention Offers
Comments
-
In need of some advice people. I thought I was in the last three months, turned out when I called up last i was actually in last month of contract.
My "deals" are
San francisco
Phone Free
200 mins, unlimited texts 250mb data
£20
Htc Desire
Phone £49.99
200 mins
unlimited texts
500mb data
£23
So the deals i was offered were useless just the same as a new customer, I also refused to accept as I don't want my bill increasing too much.
I am now however out of contract, am i correct in thinking if I call up now, retentions cant offer me any deals? basically its just rolling on at the moment.
I cant decide whether to hang on for wildfire S or Desire S and see upgrade prices.
Or to just get my pac code and go for a monthly rolling sim!0 -

I haven't a clue how all these people are getting offers cus I cant get anything near decent. I have 21 days remaining so i might just cancel and get a new deal on that mobiles website.
The way I played it was to look up the deals available on retailers websites, going via Quidco for cashback. Work out the actual monthly cost including all discounts/cashback offers, THEN ring Orange retentions. SMILE, it really can be heard down the phone...and BE POLITE THROUGHOUT. I told them that I was sorry to be doing this...happy with your service...always recommended them...hot air, hot airBUT I have been contacted by a retailer offering me a much better deal than my current contract, so how do I go about keeping my number please?
Surprise surprise, they ask what the offer is and who with, to which I tell them the RETAILERS name (offer was with Orange, so didn't mention that, silly me), and roughly the number of SMS/data allowance/mins (unlimited, hundreds, more than i'll ever use etc etc).
They make offer, I suck teeth, tell them it's very reasonable but I was hoping for X phone, (I chose one that Orange don't do, so no way they could only match the offer) a few more mins, more data, whatever. Much Hmmming, I'm tempted, I just don't know what to do for the best, anything to make them think they nearly have you, then a bit of silence which most people will want to fill...with a better offer.
Hey, even tell them you would do the deal if only they could offer a better phone / bit of discount on the phone you really want (I did this AFTER getting them to offer everything, and more, than I was hoping for).
No guarantees of course, but it's my way, and never failed yet. Good luck0 -

Wow, lousy dealsWhy not try seeing what you can get elsewhere (go via a cashback site), then ring Orange, tell them the very best deal you have found, then see if they will beat it. If not, I'm sure T-2-voda-gaff will welcome you.
Good luck0 -
Hi guys, when ringing from a landline, does anyone know what the free retentions number is please? Thanks0

Do Orange offer sim only retention deals?
Mom's Raccon £35 plan coming to an end soon, be good to have an idea what to expect before calling.0 -

They do, I enquired and was offered
monthly rolling sim
200 mins
Unlimited texts
for £15, which is poor compared to some other sim only deals.0 -
This is the deal I've just accepted for my two phones (just within last month of contract)
1st phone (previously £25/month on 18 month contract)
HTC Desire HD
handset for £25.99
800mins
unlimited calls to landlines
1300 texts
1GB data
30 photomsg?
for £15.31 per month (24months)
Well pleased.
However 2nd phone deal not so great (previously £15/month 18 month contract)
HTC Desire
handset for £49.99
400mins
300 texts
unlimited calls to landline
500GB data
£22.50 per month (24months)
I think the reason they couldn't do any better deal for the second phone was because of low use (100-150 mins per month).
Overall, happy with the new phones, greater minutes and slightly reduced overall monthly payments combined0 -

Great deal on the HD, although less so on the basic Desire, but the important thing is that you are happy, AND have made a saving...enjoy0 -
