My wides contract with orange ends 3rd March.
Requested PAC last week, phoned the number on letter today.
Without to much haggling got ;
Htc desire hd - £39.99
400 mins
Unlimited texts
500mb data
24 months £10.21 a month...
It was £15.21 a month but if I took a dongle with 500mb @ £5 a month for 12 months they discounted phone contract by £5, for the whole 24 months!
I was happy!
Mrs not though, she wanted iPhone 4,
At approx £700 extra over 24 months, no chance!
(Although I'll prob get iPhone sim free, to stop mrs nagging)0 -

Avoid like the plague! Orange broadband are the worst in the universe. They throttle their speeds until its worse than dial up, customer services are liars and cheats and don't understand a word you say, and technical support couldn't change a fuse in your computer plug. Stay sane and choose someone - anyone - else. I just hope they go bust and stop bothering decent people with their flashy but utterly unusable wares.:T0

Orange Broadband is NOW run by BT, all complaints about Orange Broadband send to BT Exec Office, when you get no joy at Orange go to the TOP as BT are the provider on a rebranded service.
My exchange flies at upto 20MB for BT from the other day - and now even at peak after 5PM my broadband never drops to half its 7MBPS speed, its always 6-7MBPS. UMA/Signal Boost is perfect as it was my previous Blackberry, until I upgraded to a non Blackberry UMA and got bad UMA calls after 5PM and UMA down 50-60% of the time.
On a positive note after a few hiccups (shall we say) retentions gave me a BB Pearl 3G 24 months, 100 mins, 100 texts, unlimited landlines and FREE Blackberry services for £7.50 (plus the VAT increase), kept my £5 Broadband Unlimited & ongoing UMA calls bundle on my mobile account, which considering I need as when I use the landline incoming it interferes with my broadband, 1571 messages disconnect it but BT Openreach repeat thier usual bumf & say no problem ? ?
Cancelled my Orange Care (Lifestyle Services Group trading as Orange Care - http://www.lifestylegroup.co.uk/content/ ) as well they dont give a toss about breaching T&C and sent my complaint/s to Financial Ombusman Service whom told me 4 breaches on 2 complaints not 3 breaches on 1 complaint as far as I was aware.
I will buy insurance outside Orange till they choose not such a absolutely dodgy company to provide Orange Care.
EDIT: Avoid LG Optimus One for UMA or a touchscreen thats responsive, screens like plastic on a £50 touchscreen aswell - scrren is a toy - a coke bottle is more soild at its strongest parts.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Went back to orange for the last time today after receieving my PAC code letters for two accounts
Was offered the following ;
Samsung Galaxy S - £63
500mins
300txt
500mb
£20.98 a month over 24 months or same deal but £84 for the handset over 18 months
On my other account family member really wants the HTC Desire HD and was offered it for £86 with;
800 mins
1300 txt
500mb
£22.98 for 24 months - currently pays £25
not best pleased, looks like a move away is only option !!
are they good prices for the phones considering newer one are due out soon ??0 -
I hit my minimum 18 months on March 26 so decided to see what Orange could offer in the way of an upgrade.
Can anyone beat this deal:
Free HTC Desire
800 mins
300 texts
500mb internet
unlimited landline
18 months for 30.56 per month(my current average being about £31 per month)
...FOR CRAPNESS!!!!
I could not believe my ears at how rubbish this deal was.
I'm going to give them one more chance when I get in to my last 30 days. I don't think I am being unrealistic at expecting less than 20 quid a month as so many in this thread have reported getting for similar packages.
Free HTC Desire ( I prefer the non HD version as I don't think you will notice the difference on a mobile screen and isn't the HD too big for pockets?)
600 mins ( 200 more than I have ever used )
500 MB data
some special deal with texts and landline but I can't recall exactly as these are not important to me.
For about £22 per months on an 18 month contract.
Was offered 15 quid over 24 months but I can't wait till 2013.
I am well aware that I could have pushed further and been more moneysaving but the guy told me without prompting that he gets paid on commission and that is something I have never ever heard anyone admitting to so I decided to let him off easy as a reward and accept.0 -
Hey people
My contract actually runs out in the first week of next month, been on the phone to them a few times and have been offered:
Free Desire or Desire HD
£30+ a few pence
600 mins
Unlimited texts
500mb
18 months
I do really want an 18 month contract so I know the price will be higher.
I have not accepted it as I am waiting for the new phones to come out, and have switched onto a sim only deal whilst I wait. But to use as guidance for when I have decided on a phone (could still be either of the 2 above), is that a good deal?
I should add my last deal was through phones4u: 18 months, 400 mins, U texts, and paid a tad over £20 a month with phones4u providing the £10 discount a month.
Cheers!0 -

I think the offer for the HD is not bad, but not the plain desire, bear in mind Desire S is on its way also the HD is a more expensive phone. I would think If you looked around you may get the plain desire cheaper on another network.
Ok people I am interested in a new phone, but i'm falling into the group who are getting poor offers.
Retentions
HTC Wildfire
24 months
200 mins
Unlimited Texts
Small data pack
£21
this deal is actually just the same as if I bought it from the site as a new customer. (at the time anyway)
I then asked for sim only deal
200 mins
Unlimited texts
£15 a month
Which is the same as I am already on with my Nokia 6303i.
Oddly enough I found Upgrades better they offered the same on the htc wildfire but 18 month contract.
I am only in the upgrades period, not the last month of contract so waiting until then to decide.
I am equally as happy to go sim only elsewhere and wait for some newer phones to come out, so if I don't get a good offer will leave for cheap sim only deal. Been with them for 6 years so it would be a shame, but no sense staying with them if no incentive !0 -
Hey guys,
My parents were able to get good retention deals 18months ago, thanks to this site. The deal at the time was the latest Nokia handset worth nearly £200 and 200mins / 200 texts for £10 a month!
Now the contract is up, they want to keep paying £10 but I want to find out the best handset I can get for them - can anyone advise me what I should try and get them?
Virgin had contacted us as were tv/internet customers with them and offered a blackberry for £12 a month, not sure of any finer details..
What should I try and haggle for realistically? Thanks in advance!!0 -
Current deal which I just got for £10.21/month:
Orange San Francisco phone: 50 mins/unlimited texts/250mb data - first month free/free gift (watch!)/ could have had one month free insurance but 3 month tie in at £6/mth don't didn't take.
Special deal on that phone - should be £15/mth deal but £5 discount at the moment.
Upgraded from pay as you go to monthly. Sorting out my sons upgrade tomorrow as sales guy passing me onto his mate who will see what else he can throw into the deal for me. (This guy added the free month/gift/insurance when I asked to be put through to the person I spoke to before - seems a bit cut throat but I do love a bargain!)0
