Orange Retention Offers

  • Hi guys.

A month ago, I got an upgrade offer from the Retentions department in which I took, and posted on here. After getting my contact terms, I noticed that the insurance in which they told me was going to be FREE, was actually £6 a month. Its took 3 phone calls before I got through to retentions regarding the issue, as I would not have taken the contact if I was paying for the insurance, and demanded it to be taken off immediately. So now I'm getting...

    - 800 minutes
    - Unlimited Land-line Calls
    - Unlimited Texts
    - 1GB Internet
    - 30 Photo messages
    - Free Samsung Omnia 7
    - £17.50 p/m for 24 months

I am now very happy with this deal and very happy that I am no longer paying for something I thought was free. They also gave me £5 credit to my account for having to continually call to sort the problem out, not much I know, but it all adds up.

If I was to give anyone advice I would say, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITTEN FORM, and if your sure something is wrong, be very firm with them and persist, you'll get what you want in the end.

    Happy savings everyone! :D

This sounds like the deal I want, except I want the HTC Mozart 7. I'm in the last month of my contract, and a band 2 customer (was paying 25pm on a loyalty deal). I seem to be hitting a brick wall, retentions are just offering me their web prices. Problem is, I really want to stay with Orange but they are just not enticing me. Anyone been in the same situation or got some tips?
  • Hello folks,
Not strictly a retentions deal but was on Racoon 15 Sim only and called Orange to cancel as my 4 year old SE K810 was barely usable. After a bit of a faff got:-
    HTC Desire Black "free"
    24months £20.42 (Racoon)
    400 minutes
    300 texts
    Unlimited land line calls
    500 MB Internet

Probably a bit more than I wanted to pay but the tariff matches my needs.

currently with orange paying £40+/month with 800 mins and unlimited text and blackberry services. contract runs out in may but i can upgrade now if i want.

rang up and said im thinking of either the htc desire hd or the blackberry torch.

best deal he could offer me was either phone for free and reducing my minutes to 600 and unlimted texts for 33 quid/month on a 24 month contract.

i dont even use that many minutes so said wat is the next deal i could get. Said i could go down to 300/month and unlimited texts and the blackberry sevices for £22.50 on a 24 month contract.

been with orange for at least 5 years now and think these deals are poor to be honest.

    wat do you guys think?

Very poor deals! You would get better deals outside!

I have been with orange for 18 months, blackberry curve, £25p/m instead of £35p/m panther pack deal via dialaphone.
I cancelled and retentions offered me Blackberry Torch or I Phone4 with very poor deals, have 8 days left of contract.
Am currently looking at vodaphone I Phone deal via Quidco, however nervous due to feedback about Quidco not paying out.

Same with me, they're just offering me web prices whereas some people on here are getting fantastic deals. The rep on the phone said its based on how much money i been making orange, and i must be making calls etc which is costing orange a lot of money. I rekon its bull, but could be true as i mostly call other networks. Eitherway i don't feel like a valued customer.

Currently on Dolphin 15 100 mins. Unlimited text. Data not a component of plan when I signed up.
    £15 per month
Using a 1st Generation iPhone (hacked to Orange whn O2 had exclusive rights to iPhone). Increasingly going over my 100 mins and using data services £15 often turning into £35...

Upgrades won't offer any iPhone except at shop or web prices (5 years as a low user , I guess).
    Best offer so far :-
Handset - HTC Mozart Free of charge on same deal but with £1.50 discount to £13.50 per month
    Dolphin 25 -
    300 + 300 'loyalty' mins
    Unlimited texts
    500mb data
£22.98 per month...... Any comments opinions? I wondered about flogging the Mozart and putting it towards an iPhone? Any ideas about potential price for HTC? I assume the iPhone would run under the Dolphin 25 plan?

...should add that both plans include Home Broadband - so convenient not to jump ship to 3

if ur regularly going above 35, then you should be able to get better than 22.98 and a HTC desire HD free. Mozart are not flogging that well.. so go for desire HD..
  • Tried again on friday, nothing to shout about.
