Orange have offered me:
Bold (have to pay £90)
24mth contract
200 mins
500 texts
Not sure about data but quite a bit I think
Thoughts?
Many thanks in advance to those who read/reply to this.
For how much? length of contract??? also remember 9000 is an old handset now.. 9780 is out and the one before that 9700 is generally free!0 -
I currently pay around £15 a month (think I'm on the Dolphin 24) and I think they said it was the 9780. I also asked about the HTC Desire but they said that would be £90 too when I think somebody else on here said they got it for free on a similar deal. I've been with Orange for many years as a pay as you go customer and then monthly so feel some loyalty with them. However, I'm also a Virgin Media customer (TV/Broadband) so thinking it may be time for a change because as a new 'mobile' customer they may give me a better deal.0

Well if u continue to pay £15 only (as you have still not advised what is the rental for ur new contract), I think its a good deal. I hope you are getting Blackberry Internet Services in £15 only. 9780 is a nice handset and 90 is not bad for that! But if u can bargain, do a bit more, you might be able to get the handset cost reduced!0 -
            Hey guys,
I rang today with 16 days left of official contract (I still need to give in my notice though) and they offered me:
200 mins (dolphin 25 = 100 *2, think this is loyalty mins)
unlimited texts
500mb internet
15 pounds per month, HTC Desire HD phone for free. 18 months - 270 pounds total.
It seems very good to me, but I don't really know much about these things. Can anyone tell me if I should haggle more, I tried but he said it was the best I'll get.
It was my first phone call and I haven't even requested a PAC... not sure whether to risk trying to get a better deal by calling their bluff or just agree it. I told them I would consider it and get back to them later today (to either request PAC or agree).
Any ideas?0 -

I think this is a very good deal. Based on your usage, you would have to decide if you need more mins. So you can maybe pay £20 and get 400 mins or something.0 -
Does anyone know if it's possible to achieve a better upgrade deal during the cooling-off period if you ring up to cancel?0

Thanks smartcrab. My usage is higher, but I am working mainly abroad at the moment and therefore not using it much at all. The guy said I can upgrade my contract at any time (i.e. when I am back in the UK more permanently) to 400 mins for 20 as you stated as they apply a discount to whatever my plan is. But I can only downgrade once per contract - 18 months for me.
I think I will go with this one. I'm just very surprised they gave me such a seemingly good deal straight off the cuff, with no multiple calls and dancing around the end dates at all!0 -

They won't/can't do anything until you return the phone. The system won't let them give another upgrade offer as, as far as it's concerned, you've got 18/24 months left on your new contract.
Once you've returned the phone the system is updated and the upgrade window opens again...0 -

It happens! I have a few friends who got such good deals in the first call! Most depends on who you get at the other end of line
. It took me 3-4 calls only.. 0
