Orange Retention Offers

Is it worth me calling yet? I have 6 months to run on an 18 months contract with an upgrade date of April.
I currently pay £15 per month for
200 mins
u/l texts
80MB data
Ideally I would like a Samsung Galaxy S and an increase in data to 500MB.
Thanks
They won't offer you anything until you're 3 months from the end of your contract and even then the extra time is added to the new one. So a 24 month deal will run 27...0 -
Can you tell us what you used to pay per month and whether you used to go over or you get a lot of incoming calls?
According to Orange - they don't make much out of me because I pay £15 a month and don't go over - although I have in the past - but also I used magic numbers, and I probably don't get enough calls from other networks to be able to help my account sort a better deal. I've moved networks now anyway once this contract is over.
I was on a deal that cost me £14 per month. I'd say on average I was paying them about £25 a month, but that was mainly because I sometimes use it when I am working abroad for short calls. I do get a fair amount of incoming calls.0 -
I'm so rubbish at negotiating-I caved straight away. I've just got:
HTC Desire (free)
200 mins (never use mine up anyway!)
Unlimited texts
500 mB data
£18 a month.
Does this sound ok??0 -

Depends what you pay currently! You should be able to get more mins! but as you said you dont even use 200! but no harm in having more maybe for some month0 -
Woah, so I'm actually quite suprised and am not sure if I got a bad egg in the Upgrades department. My average bill is 25-30pm due to a good deal i got last time round when upgrading with orange so I called them up asking for an upgrade to a bb torch.
I am looking for a good deal so just quote the price phones4u are offering to new customers for not a lot, i fully expected them to try and beat it cos tbh its not very good (30pm for 500mins 3000texts for a new customer), the guy said I'd have to pay 35pm with orange and 50£ for the phone(their price for new customers).
Obviously this isn't very good so I said, alright mate can I put a disconnection request through. Now i thought the procedure was here they'd try and keep me and we'd do a bit of bargaining, instead he said "no worries you'll get your pac number in 30days'. Now i don't really want to leave orange, but is this normal? I'm not even in my last 30days!!!
Any thoughts?0 -

Call and go to Retentions. See on the previous pages and it lists the menu options. I think its Option 4 for upgrades and then Option 2 for thinking of leaving orange. Thats the retentions deptt. Speak to them. They shd offer you a nice deal!0 -
My brother was previously paying £14 pcm for 800 mins + 500 mb data. His been offered HTC Desire for £17 pcm keeping the same minutes & data.0

I shouldn't have looked in this thread, I called Orange the week before last and admittedly didn't press them for a better deal than they offered.
I was using <100mins per month
I was receiving 200m + 200 loyalty mins, unlimited text, 500mb internet - £24
I've got 100m + 100 loyalty mins, unlimited text, 1g internet, 15picture messages for £15 (HTC Desire HD - £70)
On screen it doesn't look as good as it did when it was agreed lol0 -

Hard Luck mate. It happens. You could have easily got more minutes and also less line rental had you haggled a bit0 -
I've already got my PAC number but still not sure about the deal I've been offered. I'm after a Blackberry but my OH & DD have got the curve and I'm not happy about the photo quality as it hasn't got a flash.
Orange have offered me:
Bold (have to pay £90)
24mth contract
200 mins
500 texts
Not sure about data but quite a bit I think
Thoughts?
Many thanks in advance to those who read/reply to this.0
