If the more you call, the worse the deals get, how come forumites have got better deals 3 calls in or so?0

That's complete rubbish. I used to work on the phones at Orange, it keeps coming up like an urban myth.
Any offer is based, partly, on your spend over the last 6 months, so if you've not gone over your plan price (ie, their not making money out of you), you won't get a great offer. Also remember that the price of the handset has to be covered over the course of the minimum term.
So, unless you go over by lots every month, you won't get, say, an HTC Desire HD for £10 a month on a 24 month contract.
Even retentions have a limit, the computer won't let them go beyond and they can't override it. . .0 -
I'm better of sticking to giffgaff then and getting a sim free phone.
It's annoying because over 6 months ago I dd overspend but they don't look at that so what's the whole point.Debt free

Ok, Offer two after speaking to a lovely lady
300 mins
300 txts
250 MB data
17.88 on a 18 month contract
Throwing in either a HTC Wildfire, Samsung Appollo or Samsung Monte for free.
Which of those is the best to go for? As i only use 100 mins and 40-50 texts i imght try to get that down and the data up0 -
Around a month ago I managed to get:
HTC Desire HD (£130 upfront for handset)
150 minutes
350 texts
500Mb data
£15 a month, 24 month contract.
The phone is amazing, I am very happy.0 -

I was on a tenner a month retention deal for 24 months previous to this recent retential deal! I hardly use the minutes either as use business mobile mainly. They don't make much money out of me, that's for sure.0 -

You are right, but they still can offer good deals. I was also on a tenner before (18 mths) and in december agreed deal as below
HTC Desire HD - £156 upfront
400 xnet mins
300 txts
Unlimited Landlines
500MB Internet
15 Photo Messages
£10 per month for 18 months
It took me a number of calls over 2 months to get this though.. But a very good deal in the end.0 -
