Orange are a complete and utter (expletive) joke.
No offence to you btw Smartcrab
No offence taken mate! I know orange can be like that at times. Last year they did the same to me when I was negotiating my contract extension at that time. I wrote some long frustrated mails to them and then someone from their senior leads team called me and offered me a pretty good deal (£10 per mont, 18 mths, 300 xnet mins, 300 texts, unlimited landline and Nokia 5800 for £17 one off). At that time I was on a £25pm contract so that was a good deal. I have been negotiating over last 2 months with them and finally got a good deal.
Someone on the forum did say that best deals can be had in the last month. I entered mine yesterday only so maybe got a nice deal. Just keep trying every couple of days. It all depends on the guy you get to. In the morning yesterday when i called, i was offered the same deal but phone for 160£, no internet or picture messages. Called up after 2 hours and got this brilliant deal. Didn't even bat an eyelid. If it helps i spoke to Shaun.
I might even sell the phone as already have iphone 3gs and the wifey is happy with her Nokia 5800, which would make the contract free for me :rotfl:0 -
I have been with Orange for about 10 years now. My contract is up on 10th January 2011. I pay by Direct Debit, always pay on time and my bills are about £45 a month. I called up yesterday and was offered a HTC Desire for free or a Samsung something or the other for £49.99 with 500 free minutes, unlimites texts and 500mb internet for £30 a month. Is that a good deal or not? HELP! I'm sure I have seen things at Phones4U and such like where the phones are free, the monthly charges are cheaper and stuff.
What is the retentions team? How do I get through to them? Thanks in advance.0 -

I wont say thats a good deal. You have been such a heavy payer and are bound to be in Band 5. Call 150 from ur phone and select upgrades and then retentions. Speak to them. See my post on Page 194. I got offered a great deal and I pay only 10£ per month though I paid 156 for phone. I am sure they should be able to offer you the desire hd for free in about 10-15 £ per month with all that you require!0 -
Has anyone had any good deals for the iPhone 4 offered?0

Ok thank you. If I take an early upgrade, will my remaining months get added onto the new contract?0 -

Yes. Any months left in the existing contract would get added to the new contract
If you are not particularly interested in iphone, HTC Desire HD is a nice phone. I got that on contract and very cheap. See my post #3877 on Page 194. Cant add link as new user.0 -
Just managed to get the below for the missus... seems fair enough to me. More than enough minutes and texts for what she needs and a reasonable price for the handset:
400 Mins Xnet
UL Landline
300 Texts
500mb Internet
Galaxy S - £124.99
£10pm for 24 Months0 -

Thats a nice deal. A little more push and you should have got this deal for 18 months. Still good enough!!!0
