Orange Retention Offers

i got offered rubbish deals in months 2 and 3 from end of contract, tried in the last 30 days and got what i felt was a good deal.
I think I will wait till January then.
Only problem for me is that they don't have the phone I want, so I could possibly try and haggle for a good phone, sell it and buy the one I want but not sure if they will give it to me for a good price.Debt free
2010 £11000/£9000
2011 £509 so far0 -
The renewal deal I agreed with Orange turned out to be a complete farce. The so called HTC Desire HD was due last Monday. Package was delivered and what was inside???
An Orange San Francisco mobile. Checked the other details of the contract after the mobile phone balls up and everything was wrong, minutes, texts and data, they'd even added Orange Care Insurance.
Phone has now been returned and my contract with Orange terminated.
If any of you have agreed a renewal deal I'd double check everything and make sure that you've not been screwed too.
As I'm now no longer with Orange this will be my last post, bye bye.0 -
Just come off the phone to orange. I'm a light user so wasnt expecting too much. Got offered:
Nokia N8 free
100 x network mins
600 text
Unlimited landline calls
Magic numbers
£15 a month.
Is this a decent deal?0 -
just had upgrade with orange my deal was
nokia x3 02 free
600 min x network
1200 text
free landline calls
500mb internet
for £15 month

Sorted my new upgrade the other night so I thought I would post it.
I specifically asked for a NON touch screen so was very limited in what I could get.
Nokia E5 £52
400 mins
1400 texts although I reduced this to 800
500mb internet
Free Landline no's
Magic no's (I already have 7)
£10 per month.
I'm happy, it more than covers my usage!!:j0 -
Not quite sure what to do.
Contract ends mid feb, and asked for my PAC code as a mate who works for 02 can get me an 18 month deal on a 32GB Iphone 4, which gives 1200 mins and data plus unltd texts for 35ppm, down from 50 (30% saving), the phone will cost £132 though.
I related this to Orange, who offered me 2 deals on a HTC Desire HD:
18 months: 900 mins, 500mb internet and unltd texts plus my magic numbers for £24.99/m. Phone is free
24 months: 1400 mins, unltd texts and 500mb internet plus magic numbers for £17.50/m. Phone is free.
Over 18 months, the Iphone deal is costing around £762.
The Desire HD is coming up to £449.82 for 18 months and £420 for 24 months.
I'm totally stumped, One one hand, I was adamant on getting the I Phone 4 (have a HTC Hero ATM, and didn't really buy into the Iphone 3GS, but the 4 seems brilliant), but a £300+ difference is substantial, even though the iphone 4 is a premium product. The Desire HD however is also a premium product with probably lower 'street appeal'. But it can do everything the iphone can, except face time and a lower quality resolution screen.
What would you guys do?Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

The high resolution is wonderful, but I wouldn't place too much emphasis on it, as the HTC and again most other state of the art handsets have all reached a stage in screen quality that they're all impressive and difficult to distinquish between one another.
The extra cost of the handset and line rental is not justified. The iPhone 4 is good, but the HD is an excellent entertainment device and the one I'd recommend.0 -

Thanks for the reply.
Managed to get them down to £22.50/m on an 18 month plan with 1200 mins, unltd landlines, 800 texts and 500MB internet plus my 6 magic numbers. The Desire HD is free.
Couldn't believe it so I snapped the deal up straight away.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

Managed to get
Nokia E5 (free)
600 mins
Unlimited texts
2x 500mb data
For £15 a month. I'm going to sell the phone cause I have an iphone, which will basically bring my contract down to £8.50 a month once taken into consideration.0
