  • Hi GemmaC25, if you renew/upgrade your Orange contract online you will lose all of your current loyalty discount.
  • This is what I got through retentions when I called up last time...

Called up just now and spoke to a lovely girl who offered me...

    Nokia 5800
    800mins
    Unlimited texts
    Unlimited Net
    £22.50 a month.

Now i've got a week left till my contract runs out.
My last three bills were £55.21, £55.16 and £38.79 so I should have a bit of a bargaining space.

I've basically got two choices...I want to keep the kind of mins etc I have now, but i've bought an iphone since then.

So either go for as cheap a contract as possible with a rubbish phone, or go for a nice phone, and a more expensive contract and just sell the phone as new. I'm trying to work out which one is cheaper in the long run.

Am guessing the answer is no but ......... has anyone tried using the current quidco/vodafone £120 cashback as leverage with Orange retentions to get a similar deal. Hubbies contract has been up for a few months and he is keen to get an iphone and would prefer not to have the hassle of switching providers but it is worth it for £120!

I am aware that generally there is no flexibility on iPhones but with the recent wave of cashback offers I wonder if things are changing.

    Anyone?

You can't get Quidco on upgrades so they won't be interested in that.

If you want to go the route of switching to another networks payg and then back (using Quidco) you may get it.

As a rule they won't match online deals or they'd have to compete with their own online offers. . .

    Hiya

Hope someone can help me. I'm into the last 3 months of my Orange contract. I own an iPhone (I bought it outright from Apple) and currently Orange give me 200 mins, unlimited texts and 500MB Internet for £15 a month, and it was an 18th month contract.
My contract includes a £5 loyalty discount which comes off every month.

I hate ringing the call centres, but I want to basically renew exactly what I have now for the same price, but hopefully get a 'free' phone to sell for a bit of cash. I can upgrade on my account online, it says renew my Dolphin 15 - 18 month contract, get the 10% line rental loyalty discount they do, and a free Blackberry Curve.

My question is if I do this does my current £5 loyalty discount continue to come off my bill or would that stop so I'd actually end up paying more?

I'll ring the call centre if this would end, it's just I hate ringing up call centres and would just prefer to do this simply and quickly online. Thanks for any advice :)

You will be able to keep your loyalty bonus - I just did.
Ring in the last 30 days of your contract. Say you're leaving.
See what they can pull out of the bag for you
  • Just had phones4u guy on the phone who told me they are working on behalf of Orange for customers coming to the end of contracts.

My 18mth contract ends 21 feb 2011 currently paying £35 a month for 1200 mins unlim txt and internet using HTC Hero.

Best he could offer me was on 18mth deal (not interested in 24mth deals)

700 mins, unlimited internet and txts, keep my magic numbers, HTC Desire HD free. £40 a month over 18 months. £60 cashback and 1st month free.

Got 7 days now to decide if I want to keep it. I on average use almost 600mins a month. Looking at some of the deals being offered on here, mine doesn't look the best.
  • £40 a month seems pretty high, why don't you try talking to orange directly? im sure that because you're paying £35 a month they could work something out for you in regards to the desire hd

£40x18 is £720 is expensive imo

Don't believe a word of it, they are working on behalf of their commission.

How did he have all my contract details then?
  • Don't think Orange will give me a good deal directly as I got out of a 18mth contract after 2 months when they put the 0845 prices up a while back. I then took out a new contract with them couple of weeks later and trasfered my number back to them.
