Orange Retention Offers

How did you get the 2x500mb? Retentions only offered me 500mb even after I pushed him he said "if their was anything I could do to help I would its just you've reached the max" is the max really the max? he seemed like a nice guy don't really think he was lieing when he said his hands are tied
Only thing in regards to data that he said he could do for me was to offer me 1gig of data for an extra 10/pm that's nearly doubling my contract price.
He also said that orange wouldn't charge if I went over the 500mb but would slow my connection down/send me a text...though he wouldn't email me for my records. I've heard of too many scare stories to believe this without getting some evidence (Such a shame that we have to prove to Orange what their customer service have said)

1300 texts (was using an average of 50)
Desire hd- £70
£18.50 per month - total over the 24 months is £504

Anything else you think I can push for? he said he would phone me back in a few days hopefully when they get more stock of the desire hd

I accepted the deal, they managed to take another £20 of the initial cost of the handset so it was £50 everything else was the same. He really wouldn't budge on the extra data. He said something along the lines of "anyone that put 2x 500mb on the account would be in breech and he wasn't willing to risk his job" which was fair enough, cant really ask someone to do that for me.

the price seems right, but you should be able to get more minutes, texts or internet if you push for it. They can give more at their discretion.

Just wanted to share my experience of retentions. It's my second renewal with orange. I already had 300 mins, 100 texts and unlimited landline and i just got the following deal:

600 mins
600 texts
unlimited landline
unlimited internet
free samsung galaxy s
18 months @ £12.50 per month.

It seems outrageously cheap for what they've given me, and I didn't have to push for it at all.

I called up 3 times, got not particularly nice and not very generous people 1st two times and just said no thanks to offer and hung up. Third time I just said I wanted same plan as before but with internet and she gave me all the trimmings.

I can't emphasize enough, what you get offered depends a lot on who you get and what mood they're in. if you don't like it, call back again.

The woman did tell me that it depends on how much you've spent with orange and you get loyalty points for spending and this dictates just how much they give. SHe used up my allowance to give me this. I don't spend that much, mostly £5 on top of contract amount and a couple of expensive months that were aroudn £35.

Well this offer was after I have been trying for over 2 months now. Have been pushing a lot.. Today i got a nice bloke on phone and he offered me this deal. He said clearly there is nothing left on ur account as im a band 1 user and do not give them much business. He was ok to make the phone free if i go upto 20£ per month and with that give me 800 or something minutes. My current contract is only 10£ per month (never go above that) and has been for last 18 months. Hence i did not have much credit on my account. Currently I have 300 mins, UL LL, 300 texts, no internet and never reach my limit on minutes or texts. Im hence very happy with what i got as the minutes have increased and got internet on top..

So you spend £10 a month and Orange make you a brilliant offer like that, which totals out to £336 over the duration of the contract. I average around £30 a month and Orange won't go below wanting £770 from me over the duration of the contract for a Desire HD.

Orange are a complete and utter (expletive) joke.
