When I got my phone upgraded, I asked for what they could give me and they wouldn't give me a cheaper/better contract or even any freebies...what did I do wrong? I went into the store and got an iphone 3G not even a 3GS for £35 *gutted* lol0

It's because you wanted an iphone. Generally speaking they are instructed not to do deals on them because everyone wants one. Apparently.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Hi
My contract is up on 28/12/2010 i called today to give 30 days notice and to see what they'd offer me, after 45 mins on phone to a canny geordie lad he offered me this.
samsung galaxy s free
400 x network mins
550 text
unlimited landline calls
keep my magic numbers
500 meg data
15 picture messages a month
18 month contract
£14.99 a month.
contract i'm on just now is £14.65 a month and rarely use the mins etc as magic numbers and landlines are free.

Is this a decent deal guys?

The guy i spoke with is in upgrades and as retetions were so busy the calls are going down the tree to them, maybe call after 8th december as you'd be in last 3 month and can upgrade i think?0

After I was offered a rubbish deal over the phone (£23 a month for 200 mins, UL texts and UL net with ancient blackberry) I popped into a branch of Phone 4 U or something like that and got a new Galaxy S for £15 a month. Only 200 mins but I rinse my magic numbers every month so really don't need more than 100 mins. I didn't pay anything for my phone. I was quite surprised as I am a very low spending customer so didn't think the network would even want to keep me!0

If you're a low spending customer then their not bothered if they lose you.
Remember the cost of the handset has to be covered over the minimum term (they're not really 'free'), for £15 a month they can see no profit. . .0 -
After months of waiting the saga is now over
Got the HTC Desire on a 18 month contract for £25 fee
600 mins cross net, unlimited landlines, 200 texts, 500 MB data and 30 picture messages £20 pm
Good deal as I'm a fairly low user
This is as good as I could have got using the various line rental redemption available on lines0
