Na it's got to be down to Orange branding/apps...my N82's memory is nearly full and I got a message popping up asking me to upload to Orange...how did they sneak that in...and the N70 I had before had the stupid Orange Homescreen which slowed the phone down!

Hopefully we can change the product code and update it to be 100% Nokia with no Orange crap in it...

Finally agreed a deal with Orange...never got the text to say the HTC Deisre was in stock but rang again on the off chance, possibly she took pity on me, anyway phone should arrive Tuesday and got the following deal:

HTC Desire - handset £24
800 x-net mins
550 texts
Unlimited landlines
500MB data
24 month contract
£22.50 per month

Pretty pleased with that in the end, couldn't squeeze anymore and had to go with it whilst they actually have the phone in stock.

Not as good as the deal i was originally told i could get on the Nokia N8 which they went back on, but alot better than some of the offers they made since. In the end the time i waited gave me a chance to research the handsets a bit more and i ended up changing my mind on the N8.

Let's hope i can actually work this phone when it arrives!

I've been trying for ages get hold of the Desire and was on the waiting list hanging on for a text. I also signed up for an email alert on the Orange Shop website. That was over a week ago.

This morning I gave up and called to start haggling for the Desire HD only to be told the Desire was back in stock as of late last night. It still shows out of stock on the website, and I didn't get the mythical text or email.

I'd get on the phone to Orange if you're waiting for one...

The nokia n8 is showing as in stock on the website now yet phoned up and they said still out of stock!
all the other networks and even the orange shops have plenty of n8's!
