Orange Retention Offers

Thats 2 replies that have gone through to retentions but don't say how you got to them.
Please do tell:)
Dialed 150, followed instructions for upgrades (1,4,1 I think, got the message 'congratualtions - you are eligible for a free upgrade....'), (Contract due up in January, due for upgrade October).
Told them what I wanted, went through a few options - just stuck with my current plan, paid £100 upfront, delivery promised Tuesday.
Oh - had another 200 minutes added to the plan, and unlimited txts. No extra charge. Didn't ask for this, don't use my minutes anyway, and hardly txt.
Wish I could give you a password or secret code!0 -

I can upgrade on the 3rd Dec, Im with orange and i really want the Blackberry torch (have never had a BB before so am a little nervous, are they easy to use? Has anybody got the Torch)
The thing im worried about is i don't need a huge tariff, maybe 100 mins and prob the same in texts, would i be able to get the BB on a tariff like this?0 -
I phoned Orange as I was due an upgrade, they only ofeered me 24 month deals which I wasn't interested in. I looked online (on the Orange website) and "seemed" to be able to get a new phone on the same deal I was on for the same price and an 18 month contract. Great I thought so I did all that, got the phone and all was good. Until I checked my bill today. They have DOUBLED my monthly payments!!!!! I am fuming!!!!! I phoned billing and they said I no longer qualified for the loyalty discount (despite being a customer for around 10 years). I asked to cancel but I am now out of my 7 day cooling off period.
Whilst the lady in the billing department was very polite all she could do was give me the address to write to. I have now composed a very strongly worded letter but I can't see there is much else I can do as it seems they will hold me to my contract.
I doubt I will stay with Orange after this, I am fuming that they have doubled my charges.0 -

Sorry but I don't see how this is orange's fault.
You didn't like their upgrade offers, so signed up as a new customer, but still expected your loyalty bonus.
Did you think about discussing this with the upgrade/retentions department before acting?
Orange didn't have to offer you diddly, if you didn't like it, you should have left.0 -
I think the poster means he went online to view his upgrade options and it said to remain on the same tariff (which it does as the system online doesn't detect loyalty offers) and upgrade the handset. I'm pretty sure thats where the complaint comes from.
I stand to be corrected though.0 -

Correct, I completed the upgrade via my online account therefore I would have expected to retain the loyalty bonus as I was just signing the same contract as an existing customer.
As per the poster above, it seems that upgrading online does not maintain loyalty offers. Just a warning to others.0 -
Just got offered
200 mins and another 200 for 24 months
u/l landlines
300 texts
500mb internet
HTC desire HD for £199
on a £15ppm 24 month contract.
I haven't accepted it yet, would have gone for it had the initial outlay been £99
I hardly go over my minutes that's probably why they didn't offer me something like the previous poster for £10 p/m, maybe I should just go £10-15 over my bill for the next 3 months and see what they offer me then lol
what do you guys think of what they offered me, still have about 2.5 months left on my contract though0
