Orange Retention Offers

The Orange website has no information on the Nexus 2 as their is no official information about it anywhere. It's not even known if a Nexus 2 will ever made. The internet is awash with rumours. It's all speculation at this stage and it's not even known which manufacturer (if it existed) would make it. From what I've read it looks possibly (if it ever happens) like a 3 way race between Samsung, HTC & Motorola.
Another rumour is that it may only be available through the Carphone Warehouse.
Another is that the Google CEO Eric someone or other has previously seemed fairly adamant that Google was getting out of the phone hardware game.
Another site claims that their have been hardware problems with the Nexus 2.
See what I mean about these rumours. Just try googling Nexus 2 and see what you get.
Putting the rumoured Nexus 2 aside, how long has the HTC Desire HD been out? According to the Orange website the only HTC phones available are the old HTC Desire and the new HTC 7 Mozart. Theirs no mention of Desire HD on their coming soon or top selling phones section either.0 -
The HTC Desire HD is only available to existing customers at the moment, and in very small quantities0

Its nearly time for my upgrade, But I have yet to decide to go for the HTC Desire HD or the Samsung (Google) Nexus 2 with (gingerbread (Android2.3)).
I'm pretty sure the Nexus 2 will only be available through the Carphone Warehouse so your upgrade options will be limited.
You will be able to upgrade the Desire HD to gingerbread when it comes out. I am more than happy with mine, but if you're patient enough then you might want to check what the specs are like on the Nexus 2 and check out the reviews!Moneysaving since 2004!0 -
Everyone seems to be waiting for one handset or another to come back into stock, in any case has anyone spotted the Nokia N8 coming back into stock?
The website has had the 'limited stock' banner on that phone and numerous others for several weeks now, but they're definitely unavailable.0 -
Well, I called Orange to confirm my HTC Desire HD deal today;
1) Its not in stock so now im on a waiting list GRRRRR
2) The price they quoted me at £20 per month is wrong and it should be £22.50 I'm well annoyed!!Saph

My predicament:
Been with Orange 4 years, haven't missed a bill blah blah blah...
I have 2 months left on my 18 month contract. I want the iphone 3Gs 8gig because it's a free handset, but apparently they don't have this in stock which I find very hard to believe. Orange said they'd ring me next week when the phone is back in stock, but again, I find this hard to believe due to similar experiences in the past.
I told them that my sister got the same phone a year ago now, and her tariff is slightly cheaper than the one that they offer on the website. They said that they don't alter their tariffs at all when it comes to the iphone.
Anyway, I decided to ring them back and tell them about a better offer that I found on the O2 website, to which they replied 'Okay.' I then said I would leave Orange and they said 'fine.' I haven't been on to retentions yet because I want to know my advantages/disadvantages going into this. Basically, I want to know what I have the right to ask or say. I'm not sure of the repercussions of cancelling my contract. Anyone got any advice?0 -
you can ask for anything you want - but they dont have to give you anything. Iphones are tightly controlled with regards to deals going by the numerous threads on here. If you really want to stay with Orange then just try and negotiate some deal, perhaps on the extras? If not then go to O2 if Orange wont match. Just ask your PAC code that's needed to port your phone number to another network. this in itself can prompt further negotiation.
If you dont get what you want/need then you get in touch with O2 and see about porting over to their deal
And dont forget to check Quidco for cashback too0 -
well the worst thing that could happen is that your Orange contract is cancelled and you can then go out and get the O2 deal!Saph

If I change network, what happens to the remaining two months left on my contract? Thanks for the advice!0
