well for what its worth. I just hot offered £20 line rental for 24months, unlimited texts, unlimited web and something like 5, or 700 free mins! Phone for free and a free 32GB card! Thats on the phones. Also went into store but they charge a flat fee of 50 for the phone, plus couldn't get that deal. I got the phone offer through retentionsMoneysaving since 2004!0

Sorry for yet another post, but I thought I should also post the deal I got for my wife last week (similar to the one I got for my mum today). The difference was that my wife was on PAYG and she went to a SIM only contract:
canary 15 -
600 xnet mins
unlimited texts
500Mb data ("unlimited")
18mth contract
£12.50 per month
She also was offered the Orange San Francisco for £79! They also transferred the £10 top up that came with the phone to her bill too.Moneysaving since 2004!0 -

Has anyone managed to get a HTC Desire from Orange lately?
I've been ringing up reguarly, was told they would be in stock Monday, rang Monday, was told they would be in stock today. Rang today, told no stock, only the HD. Which they offered 300 mins, unltd texts and 500gb internet for £22.50 and phone for £50.
I just want the non-HD Desire though! My contact runs out in a month and they don't seem to be in any rush to help, I'm sure normally they have started ringing me by now but nothing so far. I was told the waiting list for the desire is 3-4 months!
Ironically that's just the phone I'm trying to get rid of. I got mine through Phones4U a few months ago. Free phone, £27.50 a month for 600 mins, unltd texts, 500mb internet, 50 picture messages, satnav and email.
I'd say the phone is worth the wait though I just get bored easily haha0 -
Help People! I'm a Band 3 customer and am 2 months shy of reaching the end of my contract. My handset is at deaths door so managed to get this offer from Upgrades:
Nokia N8 - £10
Racoon 25 - £25 per month
18 month contract
400 minutes
800 texts
unlimited landlines
500 mb internet (apparently)
The handset came last wednesday and was faulty according to Orange, because they couldn't configure the internet to work on my phone. So they sent me a replacement the next day, which ended up being a second hand unit (scratched handset, uncoiled charger etc) so I asked them to take it back
They cancelled the contract for me and left me at that.
What I was hoping you guys could give me, was your opinion on whether as a Band 3 customer I could get better waiting till the end of my contract or should I attempt to renegotiate to get the same offer back (rententions just told me that the original offer I got was WAY too generous and offered me the same deal but £50 for the phone).
I see that Phones4U are practically offering the same offer, but I'd prefer to go direct.
Any advice would be most appreciated0 -
I was with Orange for years but they hardly offered me anything when I wanted a better deal so I went to Tescos.
Really think this "Canary, Racoon stuff etc" is a real put off as well; some poncey advertising gurus idea i s'pose.0 -
Hi Samuraiman89. That offer doesn't sound too bad with the handset for £10 but £50 seems a bit steep. The price plan they've offered you is better than the Racoon 25 they are offering to their new customers.
It's swings and roundabouts but seeing as you were lucky enough to get offered the handset for £10 originally I'd be tempted to ring up a few times and see what others offer you. That handset is fairly new too so it may be cheaper after a few more weeks anyway.
You may well get a better offer the closer you get to the end of your contract, just keep ringing and see what happens.0 -
Hi all,
I've got an orange phone here and i've been on the virgin eq pay monthly offer which i don't even understand. I get bills for £45 sometimes a month and still get charged for msg's. I've read some of your post's and I have tried to contact orange myself but they tell me to go into a shop and sort it which i am not able to do. can anyone give me a number that is helpfull or any advice please, would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

Not happy with Orange at all. I have a month left on my contract and been trying to upgrade to the HTC Desire for the last two months. Was told a couple of weeks ago they would be in stock Mon 1st Nov. Rang then, no stock, in stock from Wed 3rd Nov. Rang then, no stock, those on waiting list will get it first. Never been asked if I want to go on waiting list, if I go on it now I will be waiting 3-4 months. Spoke to somebody else, told to ring the next day as stock should be in and should have been tested, no phones. You see where I am going with this.
Spoke to somebody this morning, who told me there is still no stock, despite the website saying limited stock.
All along I have been told I can get the phone for £22.50 a month with 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500gb data. Told this was on an 18 month contract, this morning they decide to tell me its a 24 month contract which I said from day one I didn't want. On an 18 month contract it would be £30.
Anyone got any ideas about what to do next? I'm thinking about ringing them and making enquiries on how I leave Orange at the end of my contract. There service really is appauling.0 -
Well, rang Orange to ask how to go about cancelling my contract. Suddenly the phone is in stock, should be delivered Monday. We shall see0
