  • Well, i Got what I think is a very good deal

For £20 a month on an 18 month contract I get:

    600 mins
    Unlimited text
Unlimited Data (fair usage of 500mb)
    1 Magic number
And a free Samsung Galaxy S

For the past 17 months Ive been on the Dolphin 35 I think it was:

600 mins and 1000 text. My average bill was around £36 but my average usage was :

    .............Mins........ Text...... Spend
    Ave...... 191.87..... 136.8..... £35.85
    Min........ 89.36....... 82........ £14.56
    Max...... 328.35...... 219........ £46.18

Not a bad deal no?? or am I missing something???

Hi, there is no loyalty to be had on the iphone, other than 10% discount if you already have this on your account. Meaning if you have had this on your account for the past 18months, if you upgrade to the iphone it will remain on there.

They will not put it on if you dont have it.

If you have had it in the past, but no longer, then you again will not be eligible for the 10% discount.

If your unsure if you have it, ring 150 and speak to customer services, or check your bill. It shows as 10% loyalty line rental.

Magic Numbers stay on as normal.:)
I already have the 10% discount. Called in at the Orange shop today to be told I could keep the magic numbers but not the discount as it is an iphone tariff.
Need to say I walked out a trifle miffed
Anyone else any experience with this?

Thats a great deal you got and thanks for letting us know....

I called with the intention of asking for PAC code but thought to try for a similar offer as yours and got the following

    Free Samsung Galaxy S
20/- per month tariff 18 month contract
    800 minutes
    unlimited landline minutes
    unlimited web (fair use)
    300 text
.....I'm very happy ...If I put that phone for sale (you know where) I'll get around 400 pounds while I would be only paying 360 pounds to orange in the 18 months :-))

and I was on Racoon 30 tariff earliar and my monthly bill was always around 30-35.

    Great deal there, well done.

I was thinking of selling the phone also, depending on how I get on with the phone. But, that would go towards funding the iphone.

I just hope its the 16gb version im getting rather then the 8gb version. I didn't think to ask, lol
  • I have a question.
My Orange contract is up in October but I can upgrade on 5th July if I want to.
Can I bargain with them in store over my upgrade plan or are they just set plans?
    I've never done this before...

You need to call upgrade/retentions. You'll get a better deal when in the last month, or out of contract.

Hi all, been lurking about reading this forum. So thought I best post something to give back a little.

My contract is due to end in September so decided to try and see what Orange could offer as far as the Desire was concerned. Wasn't going to be too hopeful with reading what everyone has been saying recently about Orange's reluctance to provide decent deals on the Desire.

Phoned up a about a week ago and I selected the "thinking of leaving orange" option, spoke to a nice lady called Shelly I believe and asked her how much it would cost to buy out the remainder of my contract (£40 per months, 750 mins unltd texts), I was told £89 and then asked me why. I told her what upgrades had offered me was pretty poor and I would be better off just getting a new contract.

After a bit of talking I managed to get the Desire for free, £25 per month, 400 mins, unltd texts and internet on an 18 month contract. Initially she offered me about 600 mins for about £30 but I said that I rarely even use my mins at the moment (as I just use my magic numbers :P) and I would rather pay less per month and pay extra if I go over my allowance then pay extra every month.

All in all quite happy with that and thought I should share my experience.

A friend of mine upgraded to a IP4 last week. He did this though CS and was given the 10% discount.

:AI am currently pying only 17.50 a month on the dolphin 35 plan with my loyalty bonuses etc have unlimited texts + 200 bonus minutes etc.
    My contract is due this month and spoke to a chap in retntions was offered;
    free iphone 3gs
but have to pay £35 a month for the standard dolphin plan for 24 months and loose all my bonuses.
Should i haggle or is this as good as it gets?
Also was told the apple wont allow orange to apply loyalty bonuses whivh is odd as been onto apple who say they only impose phone price not the carriers line rental prices.
