Orange Retention Offers

All staff have (or had) internet access, so they could take a look at Voda's pricing.
I suspect there's a new dictate in place stating how long they have to clear a call and they're feeling the pressure. These things are put in place but people who've never taken a call in their lives and have no idea what's involved. . .
but why state it as fact then that other tariffs are the same when theyre clearly notWhat goes around-comes around0 -

He asked why, I said cos Voda are offering what I want cheaper: conversation then went like this
Orange: No they are not
Me: yes they are
Orange: So you're telling me that Voda are offering better tariffs than us, all the networks are offering the same tariff
Me: No they aren't, Voda are offering a £35 tariff with enough bells and whistles for me and the handset is £60 cheaper
Orange: I think you'll find it isn't. We are offering it for £119.
Me: yes, over 24 months, not 18 which is what I want. I'm not lying about this, your tone is terrible. I'm only asking for a PAC code. Trust me I've done lots of research on this.
Orange: Well I'm not lying either but as you have no reason to lie to us I will send you your PAC code. Be aware though you will be billed by us until that number is transfered
Me: Yes I'm aware of that. I would like to stay with Orange but there are simply better prices out there (hint, hint)
Orange: Well I'm sure that isn't the case but as I've said I have no reason to say you are lying. Your PAC code will arrrive shortly. Rememebr though, you will be billed by us until you transfer.
Me: Yes I know, bye!
How rude, honestly, it doesn't transcribe well here but he was so agressive. Deffo bye bye Orange now!..!
They cant budge on the price of the iPhone or the tariffs on that either, so its not worth asking.
You will find the tariffs on the iPhone are all pretty similar. Vodafone can do the phone price a bit cheaper for this reason: Theyre signal strength on iPhones, and the 3G network in general, is hopeless. So feel free to leave the best network for 3G strength (check OfCom) and go to a network where you will be so frustrated with the signal, and slow speed of internet on an internet based phone, safe in the knowledge you saved a bit of money.
My advice is to stay with Orange. So what you had a rude advisor, you will find a rude advisor at just about every company. Theyre at work on a nice hot day, when England are playing an important match.
Dont get me started on Tesco. A supermarket. Who piggy back signal. They will have the very worst signal, thats why they do cheap deals, and still have no customers.0 -
Mark22,
Any further updates on when the Desire will actually be released to customers who've backordered?
I think I have backordered - haven't rung up to confirm this, but clicked "email me when back in stock" on the website and also when I double checked the package costs on Monday, customer service said they would phone me when it's finally released, so I assume this was what I was meant to do?0 -

The customer service people I have spoken to lately have had the attitude as described above. I dont know if this is deliberate and comes from the top but it appears that these cs operatives could not give a damn about orange customers leaving and going to their competitors.0 -
I am in the final month of my contract and had a look at the upgrades via the orange website. Looks like they are looking for £99 for me to upgrade to the desire, so looks like I will be phoning up for my PAC code and going elsewhere.
Just one thing though, when there is a charge for an upgrade, do you pay the money while on the phone to Orange or do they add it to your next bill?0 -

As I said, I know this and I never asked. I said i would like to stay with Orange if they could match the competitors prices.

I've heard only good things about Vodafone and Tesco from other iphone users so far, although I admit, I have never had any probs with Orange either

Tough s**t. I was working too, didn't mean I was rude to my customers. The fact that he was so ill informed infuriated me more than anything, his rudeness just put the nail in the Orange coffin.
