OK, but in three months it'll A: Be a lot cheaper. and B: All the firmware issue will have been ironed out (not that there are that many).
This is how the networks make their money.
They know everyone will want the newest phones at release so they charge more for them, wait a while and it'll be much less per month. It may even drop after the 25th as EVERYONE will suddenly want the iPhone g4 and they won't have enough, so they'll try to steer people to other handset.
If you called after the 25th and said you wanted a new iPhone and then let them talk you into something else (a Desire maybe ?), they'll do you a far better deal.
You have to use their system against them0 -
That is true, I remember last time trying to get a N97 off them and they swayed me into having a Renior and gave me a good deal. The problem is I lost my Renior and am using a basic handset which is slowing up and being a nuisance. The other thing is I'm really not fancying Orange crap on the phone, it ruined the Renior for me and they are doing the same with the HTC Desire.
I guess I should wait and see, but I can't help get all excited for the Desire.0 -
Hope this info helps someone:
Yesterday, I was promised again that I was on the wait list for a Desire (ask them, they can put you on the list for a callback when it's back in stock, but they do it chronologically, so you may have a long wait).
But the cheeky chap told me that if you ring them between 9:30 am - 10:30 am, that's when they get "stock reports" from their managers, and find out what's back in stock and in what quantity.
Of course, instead of waiting, I rang retentions again this morning, shortly after 9:30amand...you guessed it, it was back in stock!
Please note: generally, I am not a new-phone geek, but my current one is falling to bits (literally) and as I've said before, it's just sooo pretty! :T
Anyhoo, I ended up accepting the following deal, because I just need a new phone, and it's being delivered tomorrow. The saga/nailbiting/hours reading this forum is over, and I can't wait! :rotfl:
£22.50/month, 18 months, 400 minutes (with a Magic Number, this will be adequate), 800 texts, usual "unlimited" internet (i.e. 500mb)
Oh and £49.99 for the phone!
I tried my best, but he wouldn't budge, so I gave in eventually, because the line rental is cheaper than what I pay now.
He also insisted that the 500mb was a "soft" limit, but tbh I doubt I'll go over it, with wi-fi at home, work, etc.0 -
I pay £30 a month and that gets me 600 minutes, FREE broadband - had that for about 6 years now, Blackberry push data package which covers all my internet use and Yahoo Messenger and Facebook, and unlimited texts.
My b/f lives in New Mexico so we either use messenger or tweet. Unlimited texts covers all my tweetingSealed Pot challenge 3 - #969
20ps and £2 coins and other bits.
July grocery challenge £167.40/£175
NSD challenge July 9/100 -
Would Orange give me a PAC code three months early?0

Orange's unlimited internet is baffling me.
Ive been offered it twice as part of an upgrade. Last time along with 400 minutes, unlimited texts, £25 a month on the Dolphin plan. And £49.99 for the phone.
Their own terms and conditions on their website state this is 750mb with a soft cap. Yet everyone is being told 500mb.
When I phoned them and asked them to clarify what this is I was told it was unlimited, becaue no one ever goes over that (yeah sure) but if you do its a pound per megabyte. :eek:0 -

As a rule they don't credit check an upgrade. The only exception would be if you have a really bad payment history with them...0
