Orange Retention Offers

Not sounding good for when I want an upgrade then!0

I thought Retentions can offer better deals than upgrades - but yet I get offered the same???
I've been with them on a 2month contract (albeit a low one, but often went over my limit in first year).....I don't understand why both upgrades and retention are offering me the exact same deal?!
As I said a page back, they have limits. The system will only let them make you an offer based on your spend, and any deal has to cover the cost of the phone (they're not really 'free' you know).
If you're only spending only a few quid over your monthly amount you're not going to get the phone for free and pay 10 to 15 quid a month, it won't cover the running costs and the phone.
There's nothing the agents can do to fiddle the system. . .0 -

I am spending round about 35 a month which usually entitles me to some good deals, considering I have been with Orange for a number of years.
When I did challenge them on not getting the desire for free, I was told that they have been giving away too many for free and have been told to stop and get cash for them.
However, on other sites I can upgrade and get the Desire for nothing on £30/24, £35/18 contracts.Been comping for a while....still no luck though0 -
What deal were you on? I pay £20 a month currently, but on a £30 month tariff (used to be £35), and I'm desperate to get a HTC Desire free.0

Dont think you'll get it for free on a £20 contract mate.

But of that £35 you spend how much of that is your monthly contract cost and how much is extra spend? It's the extra spend that's the factor that goes into making an offer?
You will always get a better deal with a new customer offer, that's just the way the system work. The networks always want new customers, and yes, I agree it shouldn't be like that, but it's not.
It also doesn't matter much how long you've been a customer, it's the last 6 months that are more relevant.0 -

Any ideas if going to a shop like Phones 4 U or Carphone Warehouse would be more beneficial to get an offer from Orange? I know a friend did similar with Vodafone and got a better deal through a shop.0

But the thing is - I have found the exact same deal they are offering me on the orange website for new customers
I'm willing to pay more contract wise - I would rather pay £25 a month and get the phone for free, than pay £150 for the handset and only £20 a month.... I reckon that is a fairer deal to me - and maybe upping my minutes to 300mins instead
I don't find it helpful at all seeing new customers able to get the same deal as me - for the same price - considering I have stuck by them and their crappy service to me for 2 years with a Crappy broken phone...
Infact, I've seen better deals offered to new customers on this website, than I have been offered...bit unfair...
Think I may well have to leave for Virgin0 -
They said to me on the phone that they won't give a free Desire, it'll be £49.99 minimum, but she can't give me ideas on pricing until 12th.0
