    I did get offerer eventually:-

    Moto dext
800 mins, UL text, UL internet (500 mb FUP).
    27 pm for 24 months.

I didn't take it, in the end I got the above for 35 quid (i.e. standard tariff) and a Moto Milestone from Mobiles.co.uk. I did get a total of 100 quid cashback too.

oddly, orange wont even offer to match new customer offers ie the phone I want for free on a higher tariff - even if i switch of a £35 a month tarriff they want to charge me 89.99 for the bold despite it being free pretty much everwhere (inc orange) for that price per month

so looks like I'm leaving orange after 3 years of *cough* loyalty

does mean I can get £50 cashback for the hassle of swapping though

My Orange contract had expired a few days ago - I was on £15 p/m for 100 minutes (any network) and 300 texts plus the usual Orange wednesdays + Magic numbers - htis included a free phone which was a decent Sony Ericsson for 18months.
Checking my offers online - even after logging in were rubbish, so decided to phone making sure I selected the 'leave Orange' option. Straight away they offered me an LG pop (free) with 200 any network minutes, unlimited texts + unlimited internet + usual Orange Wednesdays/Magic numbers. Contract is 24months this time. Any thoughts about this deal - i've taken it up but have 7 days to back out.

Set to yes is fine for the UK, if you go overseas and don't want a huge data bill set it to off.

There's is a thread about iPhone switching themselves over to gsm even when roaming is off (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2423511).

Just been offered the following which have taken:

    Sony Vivaz HD phone free
    £23.50 a month on 18 month contract
    800 mins
    100 texts
    Unlimited landline calls
    Unlimited Internet
    Free Phone insurance
Free 3G usb dongle with 500mb allowance a month

My phone bills are quite high which makes a difference
  • Some very rude Geordie at customer services just told us that if you reject a retention offer, it get's worse every time you call back.

He even had the cheek of telling us that the offer we were given the first time we called couldn't have been possible because the notes on the system say so. Which makes me wonder why I wasted hours of my life looking for something to beat it.

Think Orange is about to lose another customer (of 5 years!). Anyone else had CS assistance that sucked?

    Shame I didn't catch the arseh0les name!

    What a load of tosh.

There's a call centre closing, I think, this week. The staff there aren't what you'd call happy. Might not be a good time to call about anything. . .
