Im out of contract with Orange last month. Im currently on a £35 a month contract with 600 mins and unlimited texts and Im paying about £7 for Internet. I regularly spend about £10 more than that per month on calls that seem to be non-inclusive to my 600mins. So my bills are £50 - £55 per month.
The HTC Desire seems to get universally good reviews so I think I'll give it a go.
Would it be within reason to try for 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited Internet on an 18 month contract with free Desire for about £25 a month?
That would save me £10 on the contract and £7 on Internet but Orange should still make money as I'll still spend more on non-inclusive minutes.

Hi im new here, thought i would post the retention deal i got today with orange.
I had 1 month left on my 18mnth contract and phoned orange up, i told them i was interested in a HTC desire after reading very positive reviews and what was the best deal they could give me. i was previously on a £45 per month contract.
after alot of pushing i managed to get
HTC Desire FREE
800 minutes any network/landlines
unlimited texts
unlimited web 500mb fair usage
30 free picture messages
insurance
18mnth contract
£26 per month inc VAT
im quite happy with that deal, do you think its good :beer:0 -
I upgraded my contract 2 weeks ago and think I got a pretty good deal..I got:
Sony Ericsson Vivaz for FREE
800 minutes
Unlimited sms
5 free photo messages p/m
500MB of internet usage
credit applied to account
which means i'm only paying around £18 for all that!
I think that's terrific considering I was paying £17.50 for 200 mins, unlimited texts before but I went over my minutes every month0 -
Just to let you know what I've been offered:
HTC Desire free
600 minutes
unlimited landlines
unlimited internet (500mb fair usage, not capped - they assured me no charge for going over)
300 texts
24 month contract at £22.50
Not accepted yet as am thinking about it. Mighht try and get it down to 18 months0 -

Hello!
Just thought I'd post the retention deal I got with Orange today:
Free Blackberry Bold 9750 handset (wanted the HTC Desire originally, but apparently its not in stock...)
600 mins
Unlimited data and texts
18 month contract, for £22.50 per month!
I'm really pleased with that! At first, I spoke to someone in upgrades (Alan) and he said the best he could do was a 24 month contract, 300 mins, unlimited texts/data at £30 a month, with a one off charge of £20 for the handset... so then I asked to speak to someone (Neil) about terminating my contract and got the £22.50 deal. Apparently the retentions boss is a good mood today, or so said Neil over the phone?
Just in case anyone would like to know, I've been with Orange for three years, had two phones already and changed my service plan three times...
I never would have asked to terminate my contract etc, without reading this forum topic first, so thanks everyone!0 -
Hi all,
Just spoke to Orange retentions, to haggle my HTC Desire offer a bit lower (of course!) and they told me the brown version is out of stock and will not come back, as it will be replaced by the black version, due in 1-2 weeks. The pleasant lady asked me to ring back in a week and check. Just thought I'd let you guys know0
