Just spoke to Orange retentions, to haggle my HTC Desire offer a bit lower (of course!) and they told me the brown version is out of stock and will not come back, as it will be replaced by the black version, due in 1-2 weeks. The pleasant lady asked me to ring back in a week and check. Just thought I'd let you guys know
i thought the brown version was here to stay, oh well

I have the phone (arrived yesterday), should there have been a choice of colour? i got black which is fine but just wondered if there was any other option?
Also am wondering if I should have asked for insurance? Didn't even think about it.:o
Is that an 18 or 24 month contract?0 -
The HTC Desire is back in stock today. Got a call abck from Orange and have ordered one. Im now getting 1000mins/unlimited text/unlimited internet and Insurance for £26 a month on an 18 month contract with the phone free. Without insurance it was £20 a month.
I don't normally go for insurance but given the high cost of a replacement I though it wise. I do have personal possession insurance on my home insurance which would cover a phone but the excess is £100. 18 months at £6 per month is £108. So it's much of a muchness. Every phone I've had starts acting up around 12 months. It used to be no problem when 12 month contracts were the norm but now 18 months are it's a different matter. The insurance can be cancelled after 4 months so if I get to around 15/16 months into the contract with no problems I'll cancel it. If something does happen it's only a month or two until I could upgrade anyway. That will take cost of insurance down to £90/96 for the life of contract.0 -

I think it really does depend on who you speak to. I've just called and was told that they were expecting it in today but they didn't receive it. The CS guy said he'd give me a call tomorrow when it was in.
I'm just getting impatient now, have been offered a pretty good deal and just want my shiny new phone!0 -
Hi all, just a quick heads up on somthing I found out last nite.I recently upgraded to the desire and my contract was changed to Dolphin 30 over 18 months.Cost was around £30 a month and an extra 300 mins added for loyalty,so effectivley 600 mins a month..............or so I thought!
Went onto my account last night to check on data usage(which is ok) but noticed I had spent £3 since my last bill.On checking up on this it seems I was being charged for voicemail at 12p a minute.Called them up today to see why and was told the extra 300 mins are differant from the 300 includeded on the plan, and therefore I would be charged for voicemail once the first 300 mins have been used!!! I am waiting for somone to get back to me regarding this, and will keep you posted, but be carefull if they try to put you on a lower tarriff than your on then offer extra minutes,as there may be hidden costs involved!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Hi
Is this a good deal ?
I have been offered Racoon 15 for 24 months with loyalty extras so I think I am going to get -
300 texts
200 mobile minutes
unlimited calls to landlines
unlimited internet
for £7.50 a month
oh and they are giving me a basic handset but I don't need it so can sell it for about £200 -
feeling abit more posittive about getting the BB 9700 for free after reading this thread (the website wants to charge be £149.99 for the handset despite being a customer for just shy of 3 years)
quick question, does anyone know if they will be getting the white version as I've seen it on other 'generic' mobile sites and vodaphone are accepting orders for a release next week (not really all the fussed but it does look a lot nicer than the black version)
thanks in advance0
