I got the Desire for free, unlimited texts, unlimited landline calls, 800 minutes, 15 picture messages, unlimited data for £20 pm.
I have the phone (arrived yesterday), should there have been a choice of colour? i got black which is fine but just wondered if there was any other option?
Also am wondering if I should have asked for insurance? Didn't even think about it.:o0 -
I will share the two deals i got offered. I didnt snap up either. And i shall explain why. I would also like advice when i phone back up again.
For the htc desire. I got offered 100 min (i dont phone much) unlimited text, "unlimited" data for 18 months for £25. Although he said it wanted me to pay £100 for the phone, but said i should really be getting it for free but there is a "glitch" in the system. I then got offered the same but for 24 months for £20 a month. I didnt snap this latter deal up as i wasnt looking for a 24 month contract and only looked about it there.
24x20 = 480
18x25 = 450 (presuming i get the phone free).
For £30 for additional 6 months am i aswell getting the 24months?
Also should i try and get more minutes if i choose to go for 24 months? Insurance? What else should i be dabling for?
Thanks in advance!0 -
Hi all, basically i agreed a new contract over the phone via retentions on wednesday 21st, with my new phone being delivered today, the agreement was:
18 month contract,
Free HTC desire
500 mins
unlimited text
500mb internet
15 free picture messages
phone insurance
home broadband
for £29.50 month with orange
now thinking and reading into it more i dont think 500mb of mobile internet will be enough and can see myself going over that quite alot. whats the possibility of changing that and pushing for more, honestly i would never use 500mins talk time so wondered if they could do something there? Think the new contract comes into play from tomorrow
Any advice on this, am in my right to push for it? the lady i spoke to emailed me details through and number direct to get through to her if any problems occur so i could get back through to her? has anyone ever changed there agreement after a couple of days?
(sorry for those who have seen this twice, innitially put this question out seperately but then thought i may catch someone in this forum as it was retentions i went through )0 -
The 24month contract with the free phone i was offered has now gone. They wanted me to pay £100 for the phone. No thanks. I can get it cheaper going to T-Mobile.0

Hmm my quandary, i want a HTC Desire but get a poor deal.
Im on a £40 month 1200 mins 500 txt and unlimited landlines( which i use!!!)
on average i use 700-900 mins of mobiles, 300-400 txts, but 6000 free landlines.
I was offered 18 mths, £35 400 mins 200 txts but with the internet add on.BUT £99 for the handset. So i said ok, but id like similar contract as now and keep my price the same so he said ok £49 for the handset plus same contract.
As a premier customer( so they tell me) why should i pay for my handset, its because i use it! the idea is u pay lots of money and dont use it to increase your loyalty points!! and once again was suggested to wait until the 15/5 i even said i may leave and sayeed in retentions didnt sound bothered, he also said "their million pound system works out what i can have and after his deal the only deal said there is only an agree button, i even suggested now is better to upgrade me now rather than 15/5 due to targets etc and once again hit a brick wall. I really like orange use my magic numbers and unlimited landlines. But want my new handset for free. What do you people think0 -

They do have limits and the cost of the phone has to come from somewhere (there not really 'free' you know).
Plus its a new handset, if you leave it a month or so it'll go down the scale a little.
Everyone wants the brand new model as soon as it hits, but the stocks are limited, and he can't over ride the system. CS agents don't have that power.0 -
The HTC Desire would be about £400 sim free, the cost of the handset has to come from somewhere, even if you do have to pay £49 for the handset you're still getting a good deal0
