Hey, im new to this. My contract is running out soon that costs £25 a month, with 400 mins and unlimited texts. I really would like a htc desire and on top of what i have unlimited data. And to be an 18months contract. Hoping to get that for the same price or less. I have 2 months remaining. What are my chances?
Same price maybe, not much chance of getting it for less though I'd say0 -

I did ring them last month and asked for a deal, and to be honest all I was offered was what was on their site for new customers so I got my pac then. Just it had expired so I asked for it again. Was shocked though when they just said yea no problems.0 -

If you've only been spending £25 per month, I'd say you have no chance of getting that....have you been going over your contract and getting higher bills?
If not:
£25 x 18 = 450
That's how much orange have made off you in 18 months. Not really much, especially when you consider their costs: staff; your phone; contract; premises etc etc
So for them to give you a top of the range phone like the HTC, then a cheap contract well they'd make next to no money.
I'd say aim for a slightly higher contract, maybe £30 per month with the desire.
I hope you get what you want, but I'mnot sure you will. Remember, if you aren't happy with the deal thats offered, then just walk away and have a think. When you ring back you may get someone different who will offer a better deal. It really does matter who you get, something to do with how they work the system... blah blah0 -

In short,No.
Orange can't do deals on the iPhone as apple fix the prices, in short, what you see on the site is what you will get.
o2 do some deals as they get refurbed iPhones.
Also, why do you want the 3GS then, the new iPhone will be out roundabout then.0 -
I'm a bit of a newbie here myself guys and have tried trawling through some of these posts, to see how the Orange retention system works, but it's like searching for a needle in a haystack!
I'm 15 months into an 18 month Orange contract and rang up yesterday to see what they could offer me. To say I was underwelmed would be an understatement. I'm on a discounted £15/month contract and was looking to pay similar with a decent new phone thrown in. Best they could offer was £20/month for a similar tariff, but if I wanted a 3G phone then I'd have to pay up to £150 on top and an extra £5/month for the internet bolt-on.
What's the advise for getting a deal? - I was obviously only speaking to sales, so should I ask to speak to retentions? As I still have 3 months left, is that an option as I'm technically tied to them for the next 3 months anyway, so can't actually leave? Should I wait until the last month - How should I play this one?
It's frustrating because last month I switched my daughter from PAYG to contract and got her an E71 free for £15/month with unlimited text and 80Mb internet thrown in too. That was via retentions - I can't see why I can't at least get the same deal, but it seems not.
Thanks in advance0 -
I have tried to get a renewal deal from Orange, and because I was given more minutes this contract and a good deal on it last time, I didn't overspend on calls etc... and they said I saved £270 on the deal so they didn't make much off me!! Needless to say I was only offered bog standard anyone could get tariff, but phone would be free.0

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I think I might have to switch to another company then if Orange dont offer me a competitve deal.
I want the 3GS as it meets my needs. And I am assuming the newer models will have a premium price.0 -
Orange will offer exactly the same deal on the iPhone as everyone else, Apple fix the prices as already mentioned.0
