  • my orange contract officially runs out 15th april 2010. currently on £25 per month, 300 mins, unlimited texts, and they wanted me to pay 60 quid to upgrade for the next contract. so i phoned up and said i was thinking of leaving, have come out the other end paying £15 a month, free kick !!! phone, 200 mins (i use 25 on average) unlimited texts, unlimited internet, free picture messaging and 18 month contract stead of 24 month. great success!! certainly better than what they wanted me to do. they have a personalised "budget" of what they can give you, so just keep pushing it, i did, they were gonna give up at the unlimitd texts, but i kept pushing got the internet, pic messages and shorter contract. love it.

Please ensure you get the details of any negotiated deal in writing and be very careful with Orange,i negoiated anew deal for three phones i have and EVEN GOT THE DETAILS OF THE NEW DEAL via a text and when i called them 2 hours later to pay the money for a phone we had agreed they claimed the deal i had in writing was not possible and told me it was not their policy to send texts. They are a bunch of liars and their business tactics are very close to being unlawful

    just got this today

    Free Blackberry bold 9700
    800 mins
    500 text
    Unlimited landline calls

    Unlimited Bb internet and emails

    18 month
    £25 pm
free Dongle free 1 hr day surfing

happy as got a better deal than yesterday, pays to keep on at them til you get a good deal

Just queried my upgrade which should have been as above. My bill shows only 300 text and no landline.

However they have added a loyality discount and I get
    800 mins
    300 text
    bb services inc internet
free dongle with 1 hr free surfing a day.
    free 9700
    18 month
for only £18. 90 per month

This still gives me more than enough mins and text per month and I get it cheaper than first anticipated.
  • Hi Guys

Wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a good deal or not. I'm an exsisting customer on Orange, I've been with them on and off for years. Anyway I've been offered: -

Free Sony Ericsson Vivaz handset, 200 mins, unlimited text, 18 month contract, £18 per month.

Ideally I also wanted unlimited or 500mb of internet data.

Should I accept the offer or is there a chance I could get internet data as well if I hold out? Or is it better to look at other networks? my contract expires on the 30th April.

    Many Thanks

Phoned Orange today after watching tariffs for months..
After 12ish years with Orange my intention was to switch my pay monthly onto PAYG.. ready for an O2 simplicity..

Anyway cut a long story short I was offered:
24 month contract, 900 mins / unlimited txt / unlimited data - £15 per month
+ a Nokia 2730 (that will raise a few quid on eBay)

Well chuffed with that and really glad I can stop with Orange.

Out of interest the tariff that got me going today was the O2 Simplicity tariff
    £25/month: 12 month contract - 900 mins, unlimited txt & data
..and today only £200 cash back through Quidco (that equates to around £8.60 /month)

    Hi,

My 18 month Orange contract ends on the 10th April. I'm currently paying £30 a month for 400 mins and unlimted txts on a Nokia 6500 Slide.

I called Orange yesterday and spoke to disconnections. They eventually offered me a contract for a Blackberry 8520 with 800 mins, free landline calls, 1500 texts and and free internet (500mbs per month) for £15 a months on an 18 month contract

Ideally I would like a better phone and unlimited internet downloading. Do you think it's achievable or will Orange tell me to get lost?!?!

Also I'm not sure what phone to go for (i haven't kept up-to-date with them). From looking online I like the look of the Blackberry Storm 2, Motorola Milestone and the HTC phones. Any other phones worth considering?

I know I'm probably being greedy, I'd just like to know what others think from their experience

    Thanks

If you have the text, then surely you can prove they offered you the deals.
If you agreed to a contract, they have no choice but to honour it.

I would accept it and pay the extra £5 for the 500mb bundle.

You may be able to get it for free, but at the end of 18 months, you'll have no power to upgrade as orange will have madelittle or no profit off you over the contract

My girlfriend just got the milestone and its a lovely phone, not very user friendly, but once you figure it out, its awesome.

However, you cant get this through Orange,so you wouldn't get such a good contract deal on it.... I got hers from e2save

If you want a BB, go for the 9700, not the 8520, which is a lower spec phone.

HTC desire is gonna be good when it coems out.

If you want a better phone, aim for about £20 pm, maybe £25,, otherwise, you wont be to upgrade to a good deal at the end of the contract as orange wont have made any money off you.

Also, remember that the BB internet doesn't work on non BB phones.
