Orange Retention Offers

Well you live near Orange. Wow. DrBesty is also in the know it seems, as he rightly stated the £15 fee to upgrade. You can UPGRADE through retentions, so the upgrade fee applies. Your girlfriend works there? What's her name, I'll look out for her, and also report her for not knowing her job. Nice life nd all that.
Can you read? My best mates GF works their, and if she's not doing her duty, apprently the many retentions people who gavce out free phones on all 150 pages of this thread need to be reported too.
Retentions have more flexibility than upgrades; that is their remit.
I stand by my original post, latecomer didn't have to pay for the phone and well, didn't.
So I was correct.

I just responded to being insulted... and backed up my post, but received nothing but insults, might as well dish one out.0 -
Hey everyone, first time poster here!
Thought I would seek some advice from the forum, as it has been my bible for choosing my new phone/contract recently.
I've been with Orange for 18 months (on the Canary 30 plan) and in that time I have had bills of up to £90 so I should imagine my average bill is well over the standard plan.
My contract is up next month and I know exactly what I want...the only question is how to get it!
First of all, is there a way of contacting Orange retentions directly? I had a call from them just over a month ago but nothing since, so I'd like to be proactive and contact them directly/indirectly.
Secondly...what I want from them...
Basically; I want a Blackberry Bold 9700, 900mins, Unlimited texts, Unlimited Blackberry and Unlimited Internet for £25 per month.
Now, that may sound like a lot to ask but thanks to a couple of posters in the 'Blackberry deals' thread I know it's possible to get on an Orange 24 month contract.
As far as I know they were classed as 'new customers' for that deal so for me, as an 'above-average' current customer, it should be simple enough to get that deal or an even better one...right?
So what I ask of you, MSE Forums, is some advice on how to make sure I get this deal when I phone them up!
All advice greatly appreciated...0 -

You can go directly thorugh to retentions by selecting the,'thinking of leaving orange' option.
The package you want is only offered on according to phoneboxmobiles, the contract you want is £25 pm on 18 month and £35 on 24 month.
As a guide, my GF has been offered BB 9700 600 mins, unlimited texts and BB net bundle for £20 pm 18 month.
She's been on Dolhpin 35 for the last 18 months and has had high bills.
I think you'll struggle to get so many minutes, especially if you use them...sound odd, I know.
The way it works is if you use 200 mins per month, the system will allow the retentions person to offer you loads of minutes as the system knows you don't use them, therefore Orange is at no loss, however, if you do use 900 mins a month, they are less likely to give you them at such a discounted rate
I think if you push youmight be able to get that deal, but I wouldn't bet my life on it...
how many minutes do you use per month?0 -

Thanks for the reply daggy.
Seems a little odd that the deal would be cheaper on 18month than 24 month...?
To be honest I have no idea what my average minutes would be... For most of my 18 months I've barely reached my current limits of 600 (I think) but then for a couple of months last year I went way beyond my free minutes.
Basically I need the BB9700, Unl. texts, Unl BB and Unl. Internet. I'm trying to get as many free minutes as possible, obviously, but even 600 would probably do me if I could get my contract down to £25pm.
Any haggling tips to use with Orange?0 -

As I've said Daggy I'm done with you - you can't admit your wrong. You don't work for Orange whereas others in this forum do and they will correctly state as this one has, £15 upgrade fee, they can write it off but you don't understand this. Your best mates mates friend of a friends boyfriends cousin must not work there if they don't know there's a £15 fee. Trust me, I deal in this everyday0 -

Ahh, my bad on the deals, typo on my part, way too late....
£45 on 18 month and £35 on 24 oooooops0 -

You're failing at being done with me..
Explain to me exactly what I'm wrong about?
I'm not saying there's not a fee, I'm saying customers don't have to pay it, i.e. retentions can write it off, I've never once said there is no charge for all handsets.
I love your intelligent humour, NOT!!! My bets mates lass, to be exact, I obviously see them a lot. Not saying I speak to them about their job, but I chat to my mate when I'm due upgrades and get the down low.
So far the only one who's been wrong is you,
you said latecomer had to pay for the phone, when they didn't... workaround or not, the outcome is all that matters,
Anyway, feel free to reply, kinda pointless though as we're gonig round in circles.0 -

By the sound of your spending you could get the offer my GF had, which was £20 p/m 600 mins, unlmtd texts and BB net...
Ask the orange billing department if they can give you a best plan review... think thats what they call it, meant to be every few months, they'll tell you what plan best suits your need... or just ask them how many minutes you use on average.
Best way to get the deal you want isto go ion knowing what you want and don't give... also worth trying a few of the websites like e2save, phoneboxmobiles etc... always ring them if you want a better deal.
They may try and tell you they cant do anything on upgrades, but they have offered me reduced tariffs before, so not so sure on that0 -
I've read most of the posts regarding the Daggy vs Makk dispute and I think that Makk you just learn to keep quiet, you’re in the wrong here and your just embarrassing yourself more by posting that there’s always a £15 fee when it has been proven that it’s not always the case and usually with a bit of talking it’s likely that the fee can be waved.
Cainyboy try writeing a letter to the orange execs, follow up with them if they dont reply, they have helped me out when i was in a similar situation. Good luck and keep us posted0
