Orange Retention Offers

Sorry should have explained that we are being offered both phones one for me and one for my husband (low user).
We need the UAM function due to no signal in house.
The LG GT505 is a good phone, it has the UMA, Wifi, 5mp camera, decent lens on camera, ok for internet, 15 a month not to be sniffed at, I'd take it0 -
You don't get it. The majority of phones are charged at £15, other than basic phones, 2330 etc, and top range phones. The W995 isn't that much more expensive than the 5800, which points to what I said earlier, they've manipulated the package to impact the budget less so they can give a better range of phones, put it down to agent a being less experienced than agent b. If Lufc girl was here she would tell you verify the fact about the £15 fee's. Now they write that off, or don't. The only way they charge between free and 15 is if the budget is stretched. Understand? Probably not. Your obviously egotistical and can't stand the fact someone is challenging your, and I use the following very loosely, knowledge.
Sim free from Play.com the W995is £290, the 5800 is £190.
Significant difference, I think yes.
The Nokia 5800 is free on all of the price plans; W995 is not. So you're wrong there.
At the end of the day, I said Latecomer didn't have to pay for the phone and well, he/she didn't.... and in fact they got a more expensive phone for free.... So I was right in saying, don't pay for the phone. You were wrong when you said they couldn't offer the handset for free... evidence proves this; it's irrefutable.
Workaround or not, who cares? The phone could have been given for free... it's actually offered for free on the orange website,so the foundations of your argument (that the phone costs £15) are slightly wobbly.
I'm not egotistical at al; I'm just right.... the outcome of latecomers upgrade proves this.
I'mnot for one moment suggesting that retentions have completely flexiblity, but within reason you can always walk away with a good deal... I consider that to be a free phone.
Please refrain from insulting me again, or I will be forced to report you.
Post your opinions, but do so in a less abraisive and childish manor.... I could roll with insults and you'd lose, but it achieves nothing
Egotistical irony there, BTW ^^^^0 -
Motorola Milestone
video review
It's a much better phone, aside from a smaller keypad....
Runs androi too.
If you want a good keypad... HTC touch pro 2
Got fed up of waiting for Orange to bring out any decent handsets as they all seem to be delayed delayed or not forthcoming so went through mobiles.co.uk and got myself a Milestone, 900 minutes unlimited texts 500 mb data on Dolphin 35. Obviously couldnt use the loyalty as through indirect but 11 months half price line rental by redemption kinda makes up for it.
Well pleased with the handset though0 -
daggy when you upgrade direct through Orange they charge a £15 fee for the handset, regardless of what the handset is. The cost of the handset bought sim free is irrelevant, Orange would pay nowhere near that, I believe the unit cost of a W995 is about £110, the 5800 is roughly £89, so not too much of a difference in price0

Thankyou! I'm through with you Daggy, your adding 2 and 2 and getting 5. I know how retentions works and that's enough for me. Report me if you want, quite pathetic though considering I haven't actually done anything but there you go. Thanks again DrBesty!0 -

They don't, as I've done it in the past and been charged nothing...
Also, the Orange call centre is 10 minutes from where I live, so I have several mates who work their, including my best mates GF who works for retentions.
Upgrades may do, but retentions don't... and we're talking retentions, or rather latecomer was going through them AFAIK.
I'm aware that the sim free price isn't directly related to the cost the network pays, I was using at as an illustration of the difference between the handsets, the £50 extra that orange charges for the W995 on an equivalent packages illustrates my point.0 -

How do you know how retentions works? Back your patter up.
Explain exactly where I've added 2+2 and came out with 5?... so far everything I've said is backedup, latecomer didn't pay for the phone, so orange don't charge for every handset...
I never said retentions could make any offer, I'm aware of the banding system, however, paying £15 for that phone, would be akin to taking a worse deal than new customers..... although obviously the loyalty reduction negates this...
With regards to reproting you.... the several psuedo-intelligent insults you've been throwing around at me, 4 brain cells et. al.0 -

Well you live near Orange. Wow. DrBesty is also in the know it seems, as he rightly stated the £15 fee to upgrade. You can UPGRADE through retentions, so the upgrade fee applies. Your girlfriend works there? What's her name, I'll look out for her, and also report her for not knowing her job. Nice life nd all that.0 -
How about you two take your arguments and petty insults elsewhere please0
