I don't have Orange broadband.0 -

I've been with Orange for years, been very complacent so I haven't upgraded when I should have done and am now 3 years out of contract and haven't had a new mobile for 4 years.
I have been offered the following:
800 minutes
800 texts
unlimited landline minutes
unlimited data
magic number
continue to get my orange home broadband for free
for £20 per month with free Nokia 5800;
for £25 per month with free Nokia X6, HTC Hero
for £20 per month + one off £50 for Nokia X6, HTC Hero, or
for £25 per month + one off £50 for Sony Satio
just wondered how this compares to everyone else. I wont use that many texts but may use the minutes. do you think I can get the cost of the line rental down by reducing the texts? I dont want to lose the free home broadband.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
What is the contract duration?
The contracts themselves seem pretty good, but I wouldn't pay for the phone.
£20 pm with a free phone is what I'd aim for, although ultimately, it may be better to accept the £25 pm contract as at the end of the contract you'll have built up more loyalty points......
Worth noting that the cheapest broadband is £7pm, so you're effectively getting the contract for £18.....
assuming your BBis 20MB unlimited0 -
Hi I have spoken to orange three times this week because I have three mobiles on contract which expires in four weeks,I have taken the names of all the employees and written down what they have offered and said, earlier today i called to agree the next contract from the infi i got on Friday afternoon. The operative advised that the girl had got it wrong and the phone i was offered was not available on that plan!! Ok after some slight movement with the texts and minutes it was all agreed and i requested they text the agreed contract,10 minutes later the texts arrived and I could not believe what they had written because two of the three deals had been completely changed and they had withdrawn the unlimited Landline calls we had agreed.I called Orange again and was advised that was the deal {BUNCH OF LIARS}I requested they listened to the recorded conversations i have had previouslly because i had the times and all the names, they adised it was not possible so i requested a call from someone senior GUESS WHAT STILL WAITING FOR THE CALL!!!!!!
Contact trading standards, but essentially, if you've been offered that deal, they have to honour it, especially iv verbal contracts were signed, so to speak.....
Problem is proving it.... I've always found the managers at Orange to be very helpful, just call again and insist that you talk to a manager...0 -
Hi there
Just popped on for a bit of advice, read this topic a number of times. I can upgrade tomorrow on Orange (but my contract isn't up till June) and I am settling for nothing other than a Blackberry Bold 9700
However I'm looking for an 18month contract, about £25 per month. But i'd like unltd texts, email, internet and around 400+ minutes. Is this a realistic expectation?
and a lot of people say contact retentions (through thinking of leaving orange), but I have 3 months left, so how can I word that I want to upgrade because obviously they are expecting me to cancel in that department.
Thanks in advance.

wether it's a realistic expectation ltotally depends on your prvious spend...
what contract are you on at the moment?
TBH I'mnot sure how they'd deal with it as you have 3 months left, they may just say you'd have to pay off your contract before you could close, or they may attempt to offer you a better deal.
What I'd advise is this:
Ring Upgrades first and see if they will offer you what you want, then if they wont, ask to speak to someone about terminating your contract... take it from there.0 -
Upgrades and retentions are the same department, you wont get any extra by threatening to leave0

I have actually been TOLD by upgrades to contact Retentions as they are unable to offer the deal that I wanted but Retentions would be able to......
they prob DO work in the same department but the actual limits to what they both can offer are substantially different from my experience with them both.0
