Orange Retention Offers

Erm I need to know what you want out of the phone you get and what you spent on your previous contract... If you didn't spend much, you'd only be able to get a mid range phone if you want a good deal.
Which Blackberry were you offered?
Smartphones are generally better for internet and business based things... more of a machine; less of a toy.
Previuos contract was £15 pm for 500 mins and 100 texts which was offered at my previous renewal.
To be honest I dont need much from a phone except the ability to make calls and send texts (obviously receiving both too would also be nice) I want something thats got a good battery life so it doesn't need recharged on a daily basis.
A half decent camera is a bonus. If I get unlimited internet then I might try using it but probably not to any great extent. I'm going try and not get involved in using my phone for any business related activities.
I scribbled down 5800 next to Blackberry but as no such model exists as far as I can tell I've obviuosly got that wrong.
I've currently got the SE K810i which is fine except for the dodgy speaker after being dropped once too often0 -
Finally got a new contract sorted today;
BB Bold 9700 (free)
400 minutes (only use about 100 anyway)
Unlimited texts
Blackberry internet etc
£22.50 a month.
Was expecting around £30 so am delighted with this one!

Hi i am due for an upgrade and have no reason to leave orange.
My current contract is online 25 and costs me £20 a month for about 300 minutes and umteen texts non of Which i use up due to using magic numbers.
I like the nokia X6 so do i phone upgrades and see what they say or go straight to retentions?
Online i have to part with £99 for the phone and that is a no no.
This may be a daft question but i am very stressed and just returned to work after four months off sick.
Advice pleaseSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
I have now gone to Phones4U so I could get the HTC HD2, though I have been able to continue with orange on a 24 month contract.
£30pm for 900 mins, 500 text, unlim landline, unlim internet.
I wouldnt normally have gone for the 2 year contract but i hope to keep this phone for a while so this time around Im quite happy
Best wishes to those seeking a fresh deal.Do we see what we believe, or believe what we see?0 -
HELP NEEDED!
I posted last week that I had been planning to accept an upgrade to a SE Satio with 400 mins, 300 texts, 500MB data etc for £15 per month. I was planning to purchase an Iphone from an Orange shop and sell the Satio.
Well, I did exactly this....only to then be told by a member of the Iphone team at Orange that I would be charged for any data used, I was told that data used on the Iphone would not come off the 500MB bundle!
Obviously in shock...especially after telling all concerned at Orange of my plans BEFORE upgrading and being told by numerous staff members that it would work fine.
Is there anything that I can do?
LUFCgirl?? Any ideas0 -
Thanks lufcgirl!
It does work, you're correct and I don't appear to have been charged, even though all at Orange keep telling me I will be charged. What concerns me is will I be charged in future months?
To avoid this, I have been trying to get them to swap my £5 p/month data bundle for the £10 p/month unltd Iphone bundle but at no charge to me, on the basis that I have been given incorrect information by at least 4 members of staff. No joy to date, so far I have gone as far as Retentions Team Leader, can you tell me who (if anyone) has the authority to action this request.
I have even been in contact with the Orange Executive office.
Any ideas?
Thanks again!0 -
I use a standard contract sim with a 500mb data bundle in an iPhone, I have done for 4 months, it just comes off the allowence, it runs through the same Orange APN, you'll be fine0

Thanks lufcgirl and drbesty
They have said they CAN add the Iphone bundle to my existing account but it will obviously cost me £5 per month more.
In the long run I will settle for using the 500MB allowance if I have to, but as I have been given wrong information I feel they should accept their mistake and include the bundle as a goodwill gesture. Has this been known to occur in any other circumstance, or am I wasting my time? Surely to swap the bundles over an waive the extra charge is not beyond the realms of possibility??
Do Orange ever offer goodwill discounts if they make an error?0 -
I was offered a BB Bold 9700 (Free)
Unlimited Internet
Unlimited Text
600 mins
Insurance
£25 p/m on a 24 month deal
Would this sim card work in a iphone if i was to sell the BB and use the money to buy a iphone.
TIA
Thats a terrible deal... 18 month it would be good,but 24, noooooooooo0 -

Yes, probably not in your case as legally it isn't their problem; if you want an iPhone on contract, you should have got it that way.
I don't agree with this, as it's utter bolloks, but such is life0
