This thread makes an interesting read, I just don't get how everyone can be offered something different!
Yesterday I was offered:
800 minutes
Unlimited Texts
Blackberry internet/data bundle
24 month contract
Free BB Bold9700
£17.50 pm
I thought this was pretty good, I asked about the iPhone too and was offered a 10% line rental discount. (I have been with Orange for 5 years, don't know if that counts for anything?)
Am wondering now whether to push for some landline minutes too......am I pushing my luck???0 -
yeah I just got told the iPhone thing too, this could be quite good0

Hi All
Two things.
Firstly, and I'm not sure if anyone could comment, but when attempting to strike a deal today with Orange retentions which I didn't conclude, I mentioned that I was thinking about an iPhone as an alternative but appreciated that they didn't do loyalty deals on those. I was told by the advisor, quote "Because vodafone are doing competitive deals now we've been told that we may be offering a loyalty deal on iPhones from 1st Feb, or soon after - so suggest you phone back then."
Any comment from LUFCgirl or anyone else heard this? It does kind of make sense that this happens to a limited degree at some point - it makes no sense to lose good customers.
In the meantime I was offered:
Blackberry Bold 9700 Free
400 mins
300 texts
500mb Data
Unlimited Blackberry add-on (isn't this unliimited data as well?)
£25 a month - 18 month contract.
I have no idea if that's good or not or how loyal that implies I am! I know that the phone is one of the dearer ones. Be good if anyone can comment.
Cheers!
Thats pretty good, but it obviously depends on what kind of user you are. I would always push for more, ie unlimited landline, extra min, extra texts
I got 400 min, 550 text, unlimited landline, unlimited BB internet.. £20 per month 18 month contract BB Bold0 -
Well its renewal time in 4 days (15 months of my 18 month contract) so i popped into my local orange shop to see what they can offer me, found an old friend from school works there and got talking, im currently on the -
Dolphin 35
Unlim Text
600 minutes
30 picture messages
Magic numbers
She said that because i work for a school they'll knock me 10% off my contract this true?. Also she said if i cant get anywhere with customer services i pop into the shop and she can get 20% staff discount, im not upto the current gen on this but is this on contract basis or just first bill?.
Im considering the Iphone 3GS, im an IT Tech and some of the apps out for the Iphone i cant really utilise within work, but so can a HTC?.
Anyone got any idea's on what i should pick?.
O my contract will go upto a 21 month contract but hopefully it'll be upgradable after 15 months again! :rotfl:0 -
The 20% off is the Friends and family discount (20% iPhone plans, 30% anything else). It's only off the plan price (not any of the bundles), but I thought it was for a minimum of a 2 year contract ?0

So will that mean for say a £35month contract it will change to a £28month contract?.
apparently its possible on the 18 month contract to, i explained what i was on and what i wanted.
Will the 10% for working at a school work with the staff discount?.
Would i be wise to ring retentions or just go into shop and get the 20% discount from my friend?. or both?.. descision!!..

You can't stack discounts with F&F, its one or the other.
You'd need to get your friends F&F code, get them to give you the number of F&F or the web address for the offer and you can start a new contract or upgrade if you;re in your last 3 months (but the remaining time gets added to your new contract).0 -
Just been offered,
