Orange Retention Offers

Hi
With my experience speaking to them you have done well to get anything like that. I tried a year ago when my contract expired but they refused to allow me to move onto a cheaper tariff unless I signed up to a fresh long contract (which like you I didn't want to do, just wanted to keep my existing handset and have a tariff that equated more to my actual phone use).
I have just got my pac code to move elsewhere but the retentions bod said that they should have allowed me to move tariffs back then, yet normal customer bods still say I cannot change to a lower rate tariff.
It is especially annoying when I keep getting text messages saying they have checked my useage and I am on the best tariff when they clearly have cheaper ones available which would cover my useage.
All the best

Could someone advise what I should ask for please as my contract is up for renewal now (although it doesn't end for 2 months).
I don't use my phone much for texting or phoning to be honest, and if I do phone it's to landlines. I do have free home broadband which is why I've never haggled etc before I've just accepted new contract after new contract because the guy in the orange shop has always told me I can't pay less or I'll lose my internet at home.
Anyway - I think I've got Dolphin 30 (but I get 600 mins)
I pay £27 per month as I've got a 10% discount - been with Orange for 14 or so years.
I never use all my minutes - I reckon I'd be lucky to use 150-200, and I send an average of 2 texts per day.
They're not going to be desparate to keep me are they!!!0 -

Yes it's due late March/early April0 -
With regards to the current spate of two year deals, what happens when the phone is out of it's 12 month guarantee period ?
What's Oranges stance/policy on this ?0 -
Hi I'm new here so be gentle.
My contract ends on 25th Feb and I am on Service Plan : dolphin - Dolphin 25 - 5 websave, I have 200 cross net mins and 200 texts.
I have no idea what to go for, but reading here people have had great deals.
I mainly text but would like a new phone and Internet. I like the look of Motorola Dext or Samsung jet, but they are asking me for £49.99 to upgrade! The Samsung Tocco is free as is HTC Tattoo Ink. But have no idea about the phone on offer or deals, just that I am paying to much. I am going to call retentions this weekend and would like some pointers if possible please.0 -

I think, you should be asking for a better deal when its time for renewal. For example ask for a reduction in your price plan to something like 15/month for 200 min and 300 texts and free landlines and a new handset like HTC Hero or a BB Bold even if you do not need new handset.
About the broadband, I do not think they can take it back without you agreeing for it. Thre is no harm in trying and I am sure you will get a good deal.
HTHI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
thanks macgyver that would be plenty for me and i was going to sell the new handset if i got one - will try ringing later!0

Anyone got any ideas on getting an iPhone from orange?
C/Services tell me they will not budge, nor negotiate on Iphone 3GS.
I currently pay £40 per month anyway, so not like I don't pay them much
Any help appreciated0
