Any web tariff with about 15 different phones at £15 each. We can give absolutely nothing in those type of scenarios.
To be fair, it's not his fault. It's the people who are giving these stupid deals at stupid prices. Now because the customer got such a good deal last time they want it again, and it would never happen.0 -

What's a web tariff?
Sorry lol
And i take it the phones were the likes of the nokia 6303 etc ?
I take it he didnt get any line rental discount?0 -
Anything online on the Orange website, so the same tariff to him would be £30.
Handsets are a bit better than just 6303, stuff like 5800, 6700, Blackberry 8520, Samsung Tocco Ultra, S5600. Thats all I can remember!0 -
They might be able to if you've kept the same account number all along. Out of interest why do you want it?
With Orange Retentions/Upgrades, the basic way it works is this. It's nothing to me what you want on an upgrade, how many minutes or texts you want or internet bundles. It's a case of if the computer thinks you have enough value to give you it. It's not someone being malicious or just plain awkward either, if they can give you what you want they will.
The problem with this country is that we've been too good to customers with deals and now everyone expects a £400+ phone for free on a low contract. The companies are trying to copy the model from overseas now in getting people to pay towards handsets.
For example, yesterday there was a guy who had 600 cross network minutes, 500 texts and unlimited landline calls discounted from £35 to £15 with a Nokia N95 8GB free as his last upgrade. He used around 3000 minutes a month. The handset alone was retailing for at least £300 and his highest bill had been £18, all he'd spent over 15 months was £270 so in actual fact we'd lost money by him having this sort of deal so when this upgrade has came around, we could offer barely anything.
Hello & thank you for swift response!
I'm interested as I estimate I've spend well over £10,000 with Orange as never changed tariff and often paid for my phone. It's only in recent years I've learnt about retentions, etc.
Also I'm in the last month of my contract and was quoted 9although it's out of stock) the blackberry bold 2 for £150!!!
Therefore I really am doubting customer loyality and am I just better off renewing with a different carrier each year/18mths.0 -
Oh and yes same account number for 10 years!0

Out of interest, what tariff are you on?
If thats the price then theres not much you can do, like I said it's all system generated and we can't overturn it based on proving your previous spend. It's rubbish for people like yourself but unfortunately theres no way around it.0 -

Hi Lufcgirl.
It's £35 p.m & I'm not really going over my txts or calls so guess thats not helping my cause. Believe it was a retention tariff I was put on.
To be honest this is a rant as feel a bit let down by Orange; although I will really struggle to leave as always been happy with the service and spoken to some great characters down the years.
Really wanted to know my total spend for the last DECADE as it's madness loyal customers are made to suffer and was interesting im comparing these numbers.
Additionally I'm probably also moaning as last year was the first time I ever had a 18mth month contract and it was the only phone (Samsung Omnia) I never got on with, so can't wait to get a new handset!!
Out of interest what would you suggest?
Thank you!

LUFC Girl, please could you advise on the liklihood of myself getting a good deal this time - I am just out of contract, currently get 100 xnet mins/unlimited texts 18mth contract £15 per month and only been with Orange for 18 months. My daughter actually uses the phone and would in an ideal world, like more mins or web access - she already has a new handset she got for Christmas. Have you any idea what were' likely to come away with? I don't want to keep ringing and ringing if the system will only ever offer a certain level of deal....
I was considering either asking for money back on the account or getting a handset then flogging it on ebay. So far they have offered the same contract again, £15 per month 18mths - 100 mins/unlimited texts and a nokia 5800 for £15 - can we do better than this? would have liked the phone but also a reduced monthly price?0
