Hi there, I've been an Orange customer pay monthly customer since my 18 birthday and always renewed each year.

However I'm starting to think that loyality doesn't pay as I understand that I am "rated" as a customer based on my last 6 months spend. Now only average £35 p.m when only a few years ago was doing over £100 p.m.

Therefore was wondering (and this question is kindly aimed at LUFCgirl) is it possible for Orange to provide me with a total bill summary for the past 10 years?

The reason I ask this is because someone in small business retentions said they would call me with this information (never heard anything) and others weren't sure if it could be done.

    Thank you!
  • I've just come to the end of my Orange contract, somewhere in early Jan, do I still have the haggling ability with Retentions?

Also I've moved house and my reception is a bit rubbish, what if I can't even use the phone because of reception, am I still tied in for the 18months, or do they take responsibility for that?
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

HD2 no word on if it's coming out. Only one we have for definite is the Bravo coming in March. Other that that the Nokia X6, Sony X10 and Sony Kuara are coming out in the first quarter of 2010.

Retentions is 150, option 1, option 4, option 2. If you call and tell them your looking for a Hero, they'll do the best deal possible as cheap as they can. Be warned though, we've been swamped all weekend so some customers were saying it was about 20mins to get through!

Thanks LUFCGirl, not sure if this company has heard different but on there site they advertise the HTC HD2 phone as 'coming soon' to orange.
Just out of curiosity what phones would you advise in your professional experience. Im half thinking to wait a couple of months maybe see what new phones come out.
BTW saw leeds yesterday .................oh dear! :embarasse MOT

Most popular is iPhone. Next most popular touchscreen is 5800/Tocco Ultra and most popular non touchscreen is Nokia 6700 or Sony W995.
I'm a total iPhone girl, so for me it tops any phone. Basically because I'm not interested in altering software or anything too technical. I love it, it's just if people are prepared to pay the prices or not!

And trust Leeds to get beat by my ex's team, gutted!!

They might be able to if you've kept the same account number all along. Out of interest why do you want it?

With Orange Retentions/Upgrades, the basic way it works is this. It's nothing to me what you want on an upgrade, how many minutes or texts you want or internet bundles. It's a case of if the computer thinks you have enough value to give you it. It's not someone being malicious or just plain awkward either, if they can give you what you want they will.
The problem with this country is that we've been too good to customers with deals and now everyone expects a £400+ phone for free on a low contract. The companies are trying to copy the model from overseas now in getting people to pay towards handsets.

For example, yesterday there was a guy who had 600 cross network minutes, 500 texts and unlimited landline calls discounted from £35 to £15 with a Nokia N95 8GB free as his last upgrade. He used around 3000 minutes a month. The handset alone was retailing for at least £300 and his highest bill had been £18, all he'd spent over 15 months was £270 so in actual fact we'd lost money by him having this sort of deal so when this upgrade has came around, we could offer barely anything.

No, anyone with any sense works out the total cost of the contract which is £177 less plus clubcard points. To get a sim-only of that level of minutes/texts would be approx £15p/m which makes it an £87 pounds plus clubcard points saving across 18 months - I'd say £87 is a significant difference. Enough to make me change contract provider anyway.

I still say £200 is a lot to shell out upfront and there are so many people desperate to join the apple fanboy club that they're prepared to pay for the handset on credit which means it's not such a good deal.

Just out of interest, what sort of offers could you give him?
