Orange Retention Offers

This is more a question for lufcgirl - hiya
Do these retention guidelines apply for business contracts too or does orange business retentions have a different set of rules? I am due an upgrade and fancy an iphone (monthly spend about £60), been with Orange for about 8 years and always get good retention deals but wanted to know my chances of getting a retention iphone deal since it's a business contract rather than a consumer contract.
Cheers!

just saw on another thread that they managed to get orange to apply 20 line rental discount to thier new tariff (existing customer)on the iphone........
can you orange worker who replies on this confirm there is now a loalty discount with orange on the iphone?(more likely now given tescos prices) if theres not I'll be away to tesco in at the start of January when contract is up.........
There is NO discount on the iPhones! It's a load of made up rubbish, if we got found giving discounts, we'd be shot! It's more than our jobs worth.0 -

I think (I spoke to business yesterday about this) you can get an iPhone on business but theres no retention deals on it. The tariffs are pretty much the same as consumer except you get an extended warranty on the iPhone. Thats what I got told when I spoke to them yesterday for a customer anyway. Hope this helps!0 -
OK that was weird, just got off the phone after calling 150. I wanted a n97 mini but they dont supply them anymore as to quote them "their competition for the iphone"?.
I can only get a nokia 6700 for £17 plus my tariff increases to £17.50/mth but only if I take Orange broadband as well at another £14.50/mth.
I had to almost hang up to stop the guy doing the forms there and then. Very hard sell and nothing like the last time I upgraded.
Is that the norm now?.
Again, the N97 was discontinued because from what I heard it's a rubbish phone. The amount of upgrades I could've had if we still sold it!
It got discontinued I think due to the amount of returns on the handset.
With regards to the second bit, I've heard people hard selling too but I'd never personally do it...I think it's pretty much dependant on the advisor you get through to. I'd personally feel rubbish if I made someone get something they're unsure of! Out of over 150 upgrades since I started in that department I've only ever had one handset returned back. Quite a good record I think!0 -
Thanks for the reply lufcgirl. it was the n97 mini but maybe the rep misheard me.
Im assumming i was talking to upgrades not retentions so if I call back again and ask for my pac code will I get through to retentions then?. Im not out of contract untill the 14th dec.
whats the returns like on the nokia 5800 or samsung jet?, good phones or not.
btw good luck for tomorrows game.0 -
5800 is very popular. Many consider it the cost effective iPhone. Bonus is the 8gig memory card in the box. Plus we only have the Comes With Music version so you get unlimited music downloads from the Nokia music store. Downside is the camera, only 3.2mp but adequate if not projecting images.
I don't rate the Jet in the slightest. Much prefer the Tocco Ultra if going for a Samsung. 5mp Camera is the only thing it beats the 5800 on plus the back of the phone looks horrible with the red stripes. Tocco Ultra has the benefit of being both touchscreen and having a keypad plus looks really good as a slide phone and 8mp camera.
If you ask for a PAC code you do indeed get retentions. However the N97 Mini was the one we sold. There was a stock update stating 600 were being made again to sell in upgrades, but I'm not sure if they were to clear an accidental back order of the phone or not. Personally I wouldn't get it, purely due to the amount of problems I've read about it.0 -

Hi hopefulfooluk,
The business contracts are only a little different from the consumer ones for the iPhone - I believe there are approx 5 consumer tariffs (up to £75 I think) and there is only 3 of our Business tariffs for iPhone: £30 (600 mins), £40 (1200 mins) and £50 (2000 mins). All come with 200 texts as standard - however the consumer tariffs offer more texts but less minutes.
The main thing about your upgrade offer though, is that if you are already registered as a Small Business user then you can ONLY have the business tariffs, not the consumer ones.
And, unfortunately, we cannot discount the tariffs and the cost of the phone is pre-determined by your previous annual spend. You *may* get a higher capacity iPhone (the 32GB) if you take a 24 month contract, but as far as I am aware, they are still charged at £50 for the 32GB iPhone (this may have changed as I have been off for a week).
To be honest, with Business, the frontline staff have about the same amount of powers as Retentions as the costs of the handsets and any rules applied for discounts (or lack thereof!) were set by Apple themselves.
Hope that helps,

Any thoughts on what I have just been offered?
Current contract ends on 10 Dec 09
Current handset Samsung G600
I get 400 Mins + 500 Texts
Free Broadband + Free Itemised bill
Currently pay £14.69 month over 18 month contract
Was offered Nokia 6303 - Managed to get sales advisor to offer me Nokia 6700 for same price
Offered 400 Mins + 300 Texts
Free Broadband + Free Itemised bill
For £14.67 a month over 18 month contract
Do you think this is any good?
Any chance I will get a better deal in a few days time when I am out of contract?
Also I requested my PAC on 18th Nov, I'm led to beleive that it lasts for 30 days - Does this mean I will automatically get disconnected if I dont upgrade before 17 Dec?
Thanks in advance
Just phoned up to secure a deal (or so I thought!)
Last week was offered as above
This week, now I am out of contract the advisor couldn't even offer me the same deal let alone any better!
He wanted it to be either a 24 month contract, lower range handset, 200 mins instead of 400 or an extra £5 a month!
I explained what I had been offered last week and he said
"there is no note on the system of any such deal" followed by "I'm not saying your a liar but I cant see how anyone in Orange could have offered you that deal with that phone unless it was a 24 month contract"
he also said "offers can get worse, maybe your loyality has gone down"
I explained I thought it would have been either the same or better since I am out of contract, will try again in an hour or two see how I get on0 -
You've been offered Racoon 25 web with a £5 p/m discount and 200 extra minutes. The only reason it would've changed is if you've started using more than 200 minutes per month which would take away the ability to give the 200 free.
I reckon you could get the offer, you do however need to speak to retentions, not upgrades.0
