Just out of interest has anyone managed to get a retention deal on an iPhone?

There are no deals on the iPhone for anyone. It was covered a few pages back...

i hope this is the correct place to ask,
my partner has 2 phones(one for him one for me)
contract due to run out 3 april, but can upgrade from 3 jan.
is it possible to get free gifts with upgrades(just had to sell ps3 and wii to get money for car) so would like to get them back if poss(will he only be entitled to 1 free gift as both in his name or can he get 2?) also can you recommend best place to look for best upgrade. he would like iphone, im not sure at the min, we currently get free unlimited text and unlimited eve/weekend mobile internet and i think 450 mins. dont mind too much how many mins but would like to keep unlimited texts and maybe get unlimited internet.
  • Just received my W995 from retentions to find they have snet me the black one, not the red one requested.

Who is responsible for the return costs? Should Orange send out a courier to collect it?

They are indeed for exiting customers coming off their contracts. But that's O2 and this is the Orange retention thread so I didn't think it was relevant...

As Orange have only just started to do the Iphone, I suppose it is irrelevant. No doubt in 18 / 24 months when Orange customers are coming off their first Iphone contract, there may be some retention deals around.

Do you have to accept the deal they offer you there and then, or do you time to go away and think about it and then call back in a few days and get offered the same deal?!?

They should notepad the offer so you can call back, not sure on how long the offer stays open for though ?

Mmm - just tried to upgrade (my contract runs out on the 2nd of January) to the HTC Hero but was only able to get it for free on 24 month contracts and would be paying £5 more than I'm on at the moment (around £15) with the same deal of 200 minutes and unlimited texts. Phoned up T-Mobile and I'm able to get an 18 month contract with 500 texts, 800 minutes and unlimited internet for £20 for 5 months and £25 per month for the next 13. Goodbye Orange!
