  • Well I just phoned upgrades, I've moved from canary to the one which gives you umlimited calls to landlines, but that dropped my texts down to 300 from 500, so the chap upped those to 550. I still have my 400 other mins;I get the Hero for £15 and the free 80mb internet.

All for £25 pm, my current price

Its not blinding but when I phoned previously the cheapest I could get the phone for was £47 with no free internet.

I still have 7 days to cancel etc. What do you think?

    Hi all,

I'm 48 days (and counting) away from the end of my contract so I've contacted orange to see what they can offer me and I was very disappointed.

I've been told (in store) I'm rated a 5 out of 5 for customer spend/loyalty (I regularly spend £50/60/70+ per month - i know, ridiculous amount!!!) but that means they can offer me the best deals - I can have any phone free and same tarriff.

I'm currently on 18months dophin 35, (500mins, 600 texts, unlimited internet) and all they can offer me is:

In store: free phone, 600 mins, unlimited texts, free internet /sat nav for £35per month, 18month contract. or,
(over the phone)free phone, same tarrif for £30per month, 18months contract.

Surely I should be able to get a better deal than that???!! Would I be better off waiting until my contract is up and threaten to leave or is there anything else I can do?
  • which courier company do Orange use to deliver upgrade phones?

just agreed to SE W995 (£60), 200 minutes, unlimited texts for £15/month - 18 months.

  • One last question for you lufcgirl,

I've agreed to the free 80mb of data, but my 'new' contract doesn't start until the 3rd of Jan as my contract has ended halfway through the billing month. So I shall buy the £4 something internet for 250mb I believe for the 1st month to play with the phone.

If I find that 80mb isn’t enough during this first month, can I phone up upgrades again and have them put on the 500mb for £5 add-on? Before my new contract actually starts on the 3rd of Jan.

    Thanks Des

With regards to the first month bit, did the advisor not say they'd put the bundle on straight away? I usually do that or at least offer the customer a choice. If it's no, you can put a bundle on until your next billing date it's not a problem...or just connect to wi-fi at home and use the internet that way.

And it's absolutely fine to change your internet bundle at any point to the £5 one. However, I'm sure that the £5 one is only applied at the point of upgrade and goes up to £7.50 for existing customers who choose to change to it. It just depends on the advisor, as I called up to do it on my sim only and got the £5 one!

Hi, sorry to be a pain but I've just been offered this deal which I think is disgraceful:

Free HTC hero, 600 mins, unlimited texts, free internet, £30 per month (18months)

I've still got 7 weeks of contract left but I'm top rated customer 5/5 so should be able to get best deals.

Should I just wait until end of contract or is there anything else I can do?
