Orange Retention Offers

Hi
In the upgrade phase of my contract - last 3 months & looking at getting a hero. I'm currently on Dolphin 30:
400mins
u'ltd txts
wknd/eve internet for £20p/m (£10 loyalty & £5 online discount)
Been with orange for somewhere between 8-10 yrs, cant remember exactly!
Does the system price upgrades on what your monthly expenditure is, or what contract your on?
Looking at a new contract, still on dolphin 30, the hero is ~£100, but if I go through the online upgrade process it puts it at £146.
I don't really need any more minutes etc & quite happy with my current contract
Whats the chances that upgrades/retentions will be able to offer a better deal than that?
Thanks0 -
I currently pay £25.00 per month - 'Unlimited texts/internet' and 600 cross network minutes, the phone i have at the moment is the Nokia n95 8gb, contract will expire 22nd January, Orange contacted me today offering me an upgrade will reduce my plan to price to £19.00 and give me a Nokia n86 for £70.00 so really my tariff has not gone down im just paying for the phone to make up the cost. I did have my eye on the Nokia n97 mini but was told that would cost me £250.00. So advised I would ring them back in a few weeks to decide what i want to do!
EDIT//Sorry if this has been asked but if i pruchased the Orange Iphone on PAYG will my orange contract sim work in it?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no.435- Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :cool:0 -
Hi,
my contract runs out on the 17th of January or thereabouts, so I am in the upgrade phase. I phoned orange recently about something else and got put through to upgrades, but I am not particularly up on recent phones so didn't really know what to ask for or much about what they were offering me.
I'm only on a £15pm contract (unlimited texts, 100 minutes) and don't go much over that usually. I would like more minutes (maybe 200?) and a new phone. Any ideas on what I could realistically ask for? I don't want something huge and I don't need the internet on it, but would like a good camera.
All help very much appreciated.
Thank you!I generally lurk :0)0 -
I just spoke to Orange Retentions and the women I spoke to mentioned that every time you ring up and get an offer from them that they reduce your loyalty bonus by £60, can anyone confirm if that is true?
Some of the things these call centre staff come out with beggar belief!Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.:beer:0 -
Urgh
Just rang orange and ended up in retentions, I'll loose my £10p/m discount at the end of my contract period and they cant carry it on.
If I want a hero the best offer they can do is £146 with 10% line retal discount or £120 without it - so pretty much pay the same either up front or on my bill!
What I don't get is if I was a brand new customer, same plan it would be £100 but they cant offer it for that
Its the loss of the £10p/m off that irks me, looks like i'll hang on till feb and then look around for good deals0 -
about 1 or 2 months ago, £9 a month, 400 mins, 300 texts, unltd landline, nokia 5800. 18 months.0

Offers are based on a customers spend over the last 6 months, so everyone gets slightly different deals. . .0

Don't know. Actually, this was my dad's contract, not mine.
also, he never goes over his limit, so he must be earning them money in some other way. Maybe receives calls from other networks a lot?0 -
Is it true that Orange will match a contract offer given to a family member? So if my wife upgraded 6 months ago and got a really good deal, then when my contract expired if they didn't offer me much I could ask them to offer me the same as my wife's deal?
I have heard that this is the case but is anyone is in the know?
Any thoughts appreciated.0
